I wish to amend the testing preference order I gave below. First of all, if you have already tested with Family Tree DNA and are a proven Group A participant, then Z1370.2 remains my top choice. If not, don't even test it. This snp is the clearest snp for us so far in that we have two participants who tested positive while other families came back a clear negative. However, it is found in other haplogroups as well. That is why it is important to be confirmed Group A. My second choice was FGC1389 as this snp was returned in YSEQ message. However, I am not sure if they noticed a difference for us Kincaids. The named snp FGC1389 has a mutation from C > A. Don and John have a C > T mutation at that position. So I think they should have named our mutation FGC1389.2 as testing FGC1389 will give us a irrelevant result. Thus, skip that one until I have this straightened out with YSEQ. So for those interested in getting the Father's Day sale my recommendation is to do A321 and/or A323. Z1370.2 remains an option only for those proven to be Group A. Best wishes! We are not there yet as we are not certain if the above six snps are common to all Group A Kincaids. Only some should be. It is only after more Group A Kincaids test that we will be able to say which applies to which cluster of Kincaids. The reality is that any present Group A Kincaids testing will not learn anything new about themselves. They will simply be a pioneer with this and help future Kincaid testers.
