    1. Re: [KINCAID] William Kincaid marriages in Bath Co, KY

    3. Please note: the Small family records say George Small had 3 children married to Kincaids. The only Kincaid/Small marriage record still existing in Bath Co is for William and Polly.  Barbara Neal may be the daughter of John Neal (Neall/Neale) listed in the 1830 Bath Co census p222/8; 1820 Bath Co census p174/2 and probably the Fleming Co census in 1810. Small family records state Malinda Small married Anderson Kincaid about 1821 and had sons Thomas and John. Malinda is the wife of Ignatius Burns in 1850 and her father George is in the household. There are no Kincaids listed in the household. It is possible Anderson Kincaid is the unknown male 16-25 in the 1810 household of Thomas Kincaid and Mary Bracken. He is still in the household in 1820. If he is Thomas' son, Mary Bracken would not be his mother. Laura Kincaid married William Small about 1830. He is single in 1850.   Laura is a ? The Kincaid children in the Small records are listed as John b1-17-1818, Eliza Jane b6-19-1820, Emily Ann b8-22-1821, Lucretia b11-17-1822, Thomas (no date) and William Wesley b9-19-1827. There is no Guy listed. The 1820 census says William had 1 male 0-9 and 1 female 0-9. The 1830 census says William had 3 males 0-4, 2 males 5-9, 2 females 5-9.The male and female born before 1820 are not in the 1830 census. They could be John and Eliza Jane and they could have died. Two of the five sons listed could be Thomas and William. The 2 females could be Emily and Lucretia. That leaves 3 males ages 0-9 not accounted for in Small records. The taxes on William's land in Bath County were paid through 1834. Barbara has a land patent in Greene Co, IL dated 4-22-1835. That would seem to indicate William did not ever live in Christian Co, KY. There is no Guy in the listed children. There are no daughters listed in the 1830 census as being born after 1824/5. Records have not been found for Anderson Kincaid who evidently died before 1850. There is a William Kincaid in Christian Co in 1830 with 2 males 0-4, 1 male 5 -9 and 1 female 0-4. If the Barbara in 1850 Macoupin is the widow of this William, The 2 males 0-4 would appear to be Levi and Andrew Jackson (see Barbara's post re land inherited in 1847 from deceased son William who could be the male 5-9). Archer/Archie would appear to be born after the 1830 census was taken. There is no Guy listed here either. ________________________________ From: Courtney Kahler <ckinkead@yahoo.com> To: "kincaid@rootsweb.com" <kincaid@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 13, 2014 10:20 AM Subject: Re: [KINCAID] William Kincaid marriages in Bath Co, KY Well if that is the right family group, then that Guy is not the only Guy, just the first one.  Because Guy H's grandson was Guy Hunt Kinkead, and Guy Hunt's grandson is my father Guy Albert Kinkead.  =-) Many have assumed the H in Guy H was Guy Hunt as it is in the grandson, but I am not certain of that.  Guy Hunt's maternal grandfather's named was Montgomery Hunt Cushing, so I am guessing the Hunt name came in from there, rather than the Kinkead side.  So I have stopped presuming the elder Guy H Kinkead is Guy Hunt.   Courtney Kahler http://www.chainedheartjewelry.com/ ________________________________ From: Randall Kincaid <rkincaid@sprynet.com> To: kincaid@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, March 13, 2014 10:11 AM Subject: Re: [KINCAID] William Kincaid marriages in Bath Co, KY Also interesting to note the additional use of the name "Thomas." It appears to be, with "Andrew" and "Archibald," a common denominator across the A&A tree. This seems to be contributing to the possibility that Andrew & Archibald's father may have been named Thomas. It would appear that Archibald's son, William Kincaid, followed the order of oldest son, Thomas (with Polly Small), and next son, Archibald (with Barbara Neal). Although the name Guy is used in other Kincaid family groups, not closely related, Barbara's son, Guy, appears to be the first and only use of it in the A&A group. -----Original Message----- >From: Barbara Van Hout <dutchtreat@prodigy.net> >Sent: Mar 12, 2014 7:08 PM >To: Judy Roth <jroth93947@yahoo.com>, kincaid@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [KINCAID] William Kincaid marriages in Bath Co, KY > >Here is the will of a Thomas Kincaid in Menard County, IL.  The will is >dated 1853 but executed in Menard County in 1861.  This is the same Thomas >who was living with James and Lucinda >Small in the 1850 Bath County, KY census. > >This Thomas J Kincaid a. 37 was one of two Thomas Kincaids in the 1860 >Menard County, IL  census, living in the household >of  Andrew Kincaid a. 75 b.
