Hi Listers, I have a Margaret Kincaid in my Tree, married in 1821 to James Kerr. Margaret died 1858 and is buried in the Southern Necropolis, Glasgow. Margaret's Parents were Malcolm Kincaid and Janet McKirroch. I have found two Families with the name McKirroch - one in Avondale and another in Campsie. Does anyone have these names in their Tree. Any help would be most appreciated. Regards Wilma - Canada
Margaret Kinkaid. As lawful daughter of Malcom Kinkaid, weaver at New Town, and Janet McKirroch, Margaret was baptized in Campsie Parish, Stirling on 30 March 1800. The witnesses were James Leckie & Ja[me]s Rankine. I 'suspect' Malcolm to be the son of a John Kincaid and the brother of John Kincaid of New Town, mason, who married Jean Taylor. The following two records 'suggest' this. An unnamed daughter of Malcom Kinkaid, weaver in Lenox Town, and Janet McKirroch, his spouse, was baptized in Campsie Parish, Stirling on 1 August 1802. The witnesses were John Kincaid Sen[io]r and John Kincaid Jun[io]r. John Kincaid, lawful son of John Kincaid, masone at New Town, and Jean Taylor, his spouse, was baptized in Campsie Parish, Stirling on 23 February 1795. The witnesses were John Kincaid and Malcom Kincaid. Best wishes! Peter A.
