    3. Hi Everyone. Peter, the way you describe the descendents of Alexander the provost, it looks like the DNA link may not have been broken by his son not having any children himself. If the heir was a grandson of his Alexander the Provost's brother, then any male descendents would share a common ancester and could be identified by DNA matching. So, the question, as always, is how many children did the heir (grandson) have and were any male with further descendents, perhaps some who came to the new world.
