    3. I found an interesting tidbit of a Baird family in Greencroft near Petersburg, Virginia. There is some good data at: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/BAIRD/2005-10/1129926180 What is of potential interest to Kincaids is that these Bairds were from the lands of East Muckcroft which is on the north side of the Kincaid lands in Campsie Parish, Scotland. If there is a Kincaid connection to this family then this could point to that Kincaid family's origins. Best wishes! Peter

    3. Very interesting on the Bairds! This is not likely the same Baird family but possibly the same. "Thanks Barbara for the great info on Mary Kincaid Barksdale(Braxdale) Bard ( Baird). This website states Bard married Mary Kincaid Braxdale in 1779, however one of the most prolific researchers of descendants of Joseph Kinkead, died 1774 in Albemarle Co.. VA, Ron Lepeska, states John Barksdale died in 1782. Here is what Ron showed: 3 Mary Kincaid +John Barksdale d: 1782 the Battle of the Blue Licking River, KY by Indians, the last battle of the Revolutionary War. 4 John Barksdale 4 Sarah Barksdale *2nd Husband of Mary Kincaid: +William Baird 4 James Baird 4 William Baird 4 Ebenezer Baird 4 Isaac Baird" The above Mary was the daughter of John Kincaid & Margaret(my guess is Lockhart) and granddaughter of Joseph Kincaid died 1774, Albemarle County, VA.
