Don, Yes, thank you. I do have a copy of Calvin's death certificate. It seems that lots of people are researching Calvin/Telitha Nida and their children. Calvin is a brother to my gggrandfather, Mordecai. The boys' father and mother is Mathew/Elizabeth Humble. I just can't seem to find anyone who has done research on Mordecai's, or Calvin's upward line, passed their father Mathew. Or at least documented proof of Mathew's father. Do you know if anyone has researched the various Kincaid's that arrived in America, and was able to work the lines downward to the present? At least, then I could eliminate certain lines. Also, does anyone have knowledge of the first instance of the spelling "Kincade", where, or how it started, who started using it, and why? I understand that mistakes where made during a time when spelling wasn't an issue, more people were illiterate, than were not. But, I would like to have an idea of when it became a common usage of the name Kincaid. I have heard stories, from my family, that two brothers had came to America that were not getting along, and one decided to spell his different, as not to be associated with the other.
