Dear Sue Could you please send me an email including the Kincaid of all spellings DNA chart. The link I have seems to have expired Best wishes Andrew Kincaid (Kit 26838) -----Original Message----- From: kincaid-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:kincaid-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Sue Liedtke Sent: Sunday, 27 May 2007 11:50 PM To: kincaidfamily@qwest.net; kincaid@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KINCAID] New DNA results One book that may be of help is "Trace Your Roots with DNA" by Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak and Ann Turner. It comes in paperback and should be available at national bookstore chains. The book assumes you know little but does become more complex as you go along. Would you be able to recommend a good reference book for those of us who want to learn more about DNA testing and ancestry? I'm interested in the application of DNA testing to genealogy specifically rather than the general topic or forensic DNA. Thanks. Original Message: ----------------- From: Peter A. With the limited number of results technically the group node is not written in stone. The picture could change which would cause confusion down the road. For some time now I speculated that the ancestral values for DYS 459 a,b was 9,9. It has been assumed that the ancestral value was 9,10 making sample 2562 representative of the ancestral value. The evidence now favours 9,9. Thus, anyone with 9,10 would count one mutation in their line. The upgrade to 67 markers by #31493 A-1a are starting to come in. The 1st panel with markers 38-46 are in. The results match the AAV for Group A exactly. The results for the upgrades ordered during the upgrade sale are taking a while to come in. FTDNA must have had a good response. I am waiting for the rest of the results for those who have upgraded to come in before sending a new chart to Alice. I do want to remind everyone that the url for the chart is at the end of list posts.
