Norman, I've now gotten this twice, so it is going through. Good luck in finding and solving whatever the problem is that you are having with your e-mail. In reading this will, it seems to me that he had land in more than one place, perhaps the 150 acres in one place that was to be divided, and then more land elsewhere. Norman Kincaide I believe Samuel Kinkead who died in Crawford County, PA in 1829 was the son of Michael Kincaid. I think Samuel preceded his father in exploring or migrating from Hamilton's Bann Township to Allegheny then to Crawford County, PA. I believe the Samuel Kinkead below with another male over 16 is the Samuel Kinkead who ends up in Butler County, the other male could be John Kincaid, the Artillery Artificer. Samuel also shows up on the militia list in 1793. 1790 Samuel Kinkead, [000013] Washington Township, Westmoreland County, PA, 2 males over 16. Crawford County, PA Court House, Will Book A-69. I believe this is the same Samuel Kinkead referenced as the son of Michael Kinkead, cousin to Samuel Kinkead of Fawn Township, York County, PA. who died in 1779 and was in Continental Service from 1776. He left a 100 acres to Michael's son Samuel on Petter's Creek near Pittsburgh. I think the Mary Kinkead in the will below is the Mary Kinkead who has two lots in Bedford Town, Bedford County, PA and later has a warrant for 100 acres. I'm still not sure who this brother John Kinkead is. He could be the Artillery Artificer who died in Butler County, PA in 1814. Too bad he didn't say where the 50 and the other 100 acres were located. It reads like it was one parcel. But then he specifically references the 100 acres on Petter's Creek but it sounds like he had more than 100 acres there. In the name of God, Amen, I Samuel Kinkaid [000004] being in perfect health of body and of sound memory, blessed be God this twenty sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy six, make and publish this my last will and testament. In manner following that is to say first, I give to my brother John, [000004] fifty acres of any land where it may not hurt the place but most convenient for both places. Next, I give to my sister Mary [000004] one hundred acres of any place. Next I give to my cousin Samuel Kinkaid, [000004] son to Michael Kinkaid, [000004] one hundred acres of my land near Pitchburgh (This was difficult to read and could have been Pittsburgh) on Petters Creek. Next I give to my cousin Michael Kinkaid [000004] all my chattels and goods he has now in his possesion. And I do make and ordain my cousin Michael Kinkaid [000004] to be my whole executor of this my last will and testament in trust for the intention and purpose in this my will contained and in witness where of I the said Samuel Kinkaid [000004] have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above mentioned. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of us.
