John Campbell Gent. took his seat in Court Alex Sumrall and Thos Jack Walter Sumrall p. 249 Aug 24th, 1778 John Gibson Gent. came into Court and acknowledged a deed of surrender to Matthias Slough Esq. 1000 Acres of Land on the Ohio which is ordered to be recorded. Matthis Slough was his brother-in-law, married to his sister Mary Gibson. John Gibson had a brother George Gibson----this was the Capt. George Gibson named in Robert Kinkade's RW pension application, DNA #4588. This Gibson family was in Lancaster County, PA as early as 1742. ********************** George Gibson, b. circa 1708; inn-keeper at Lancaster, and owned a large number of tracts of land, which he had warranted from the Proprietaries. He died at Lancaster in December 1761, leaving a wife, Martha (Devinney) and children as follows: a.. i. Mary, b. 1734, m. Matthias Slough. a.. ii. Thomas, b. 1737. a.. iii. John, b.
