"The Virginia patents tell us that the Andrew Kincaid who served with Capt. Lewis was an assignee of a John Kincaid." Correction to the above statement: It was John Kinkead who served with Capt. Lewis in 1763 who gave this land to Andrew Kincaid. The deed suggest that Andrew was an heir of John Kinkead. This land was in Lincoln County, KY. http://apps.sos.ky.gov/land/nonmilitary/patentseries/vaandokpatents/DisplayPrintableImage.aspx?DocDb=VIRGINIA%20PATENTS&DocTitle=VA%200628.0&Title=VA%200628.0&Description=KINKAID%2c+ANDREW&Page=1&ScaleFactor=1&CompressionFactor=20 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Van Hout" <dutchtreat@prodigy.net> To: <Kincaid@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 15, 2008 9:52 AM Subject: [KINCAID] New Kentucky land patents added > The Kentucky Secretary of State website has added images of more very > early land patents.
