Barbara, I have believed that Allen is a brother to Mathew who married Elizabeth Humble, I also believe there are more brothers, as follows: Washington, James, Allen, Thomas and, of course, Mathew. They all lived in Hamilton County, Fallcreek Township during the 1840 Census. Mathew/Elizabeth was near Pleasant R. Humble family and the Sarah Humble family. Mathew has 2 males ages 20-30 in the household, I believe this to be Allen and Mathew. Thomas has a male in his household, age 60-70, which I believe to be his father, but not sure on that, as well as a male age 30-40, which I believe to be himself. James and Thomas were near each other, and Washington was near the Vanover family of Enoch M. Vanover, and an Asa? H. Vanover. I still have not been able to find any type of marriage bond for Mathew and Elizabeth, either in VA, OH or IN. Haven't been able to locate where Mathew or Elizabeth are buried either. And since I can't prove that Francis is Mathew's father, I have not really pursued any further information on Francis, just have made notes on what I have ran acrossed. I seen on someone's GEDCOM file, that Francis, son of Thomas/Hannah Tincher, was born 1773, (which would correlate with the over 50 in 1823), but died in 1826. If that's factual, then, Thomas' older male in the family would not be his father, if Francis is his father. What are your thoughts on this matter? And thank you for your information that you posted, I'm very excited to see this, I've been up against a brick wall on my family passed Mathew, it actually gives me some hope that there is something out there to be found, again...Thank you!!!! This is the federal Bureau of Land Management website, which shows early land purchases by the patentee. Matthew Kincaid bought land in Hamilton County, IN in 1837. Thomas Kincade (use this spelling) bought land in Madison County, IN in 1826. Click on the little square to the left of the name, and it says that Thomas was from Hamilton County, Ohio. I didn't find a land purchase for Francis---perhaps he was in Indiana too early to be recorded? --unless the state of Indiana has its own land records. http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/PatentSearch/ Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: <lewisjo@junct.com> To: <kincaid@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 01, 2008 6:46 PM Subject: Re: [KINCAID] Francis Kincaid of Hamilton County, Indiana---1830's > Barbara, > I have believed that Allen is a brother to Mathew who married Elizabeth > Humble, I also believe there are more brothers, as follows: Washington, > James, Allen, Thomas and, of course, Mathew.
