    1. Re: [KINCAID] Sue Re: Joining The Kincaid Project
    2. Thanks, Sue. Thomas S. Kincaid was born 7 Aug 1818 in Kentucky (according to my info). He died 27 Dec 1866. He and Marena Siverly were married 24 Jun 1841 in Henry, Illinois. I think she may have been born 27 Jan 1822. George F. Kincaid was born in April, 1850 in Mercer Co., Illinois. He died in Hutchinson, KS. I have not been back to Hutchinson to photograph his grave, or I would have his exact death date. He's buried in Nickerson, KS. His son, William T. Kincaid was born 23 Jul 1877 in Butler Co., KS and died 6 Sep 1949 in Wichita, KS. He was in the Spanish American War. He and his wife are also buried at Wildmead Cemetery in Nickerson, KS. W.T. and May's son, Richard, died at the age of 3 (about 1910). I have the newspaper clipping somewhere, but I would have to hunt up the exact date. My grandma (their only other child) is Helen Kincaid Whorton. She was born 28? Jun 1908 (I think in Denver, CO) and died 9 Jan 2005 in Spearfish, SD at my mom's home. She spent most of her adult life in Junction City, KS and worked at Fort Riley. She became quite accomplished there and we're anticipating that they will be displaying her life accomplishments there at the museum. She was truly a woman out of her time. Anyway, I have some genealogy beyond Thomas S. and Marena, but I honestly feel that I don't have a lot of supporting evidence for George F. Kincaid's parentage right now. Our local chapter of the DAR is helping me with this. What I do think is that Thomas S. Kincaid's parents are James Kincaid (b. 18 Apr 1788 in Cumberland, PA m. 5 May 1816 in Montgomery, KY and d. 11 Jan 1856 in Henry, Illinois) and Polly Sanders Kincaid (b. and d. unknown). I have James' parents as Andrew Kincaid and Martha Townsley Kincaid (of Archibald/Andrew and Janet/Martha Townsley fame). Life has not slowed down in the last 10 years to allow me to keep up with my genealogy the way I would like to, and sometimes I feel like I'm having to re-invent the wheel. But my sister and brother are doing it with me now, and so we kind of help each other with keeping track of it all. I appreciate you taking your time to help me. Thanks...
