Dear Kincaid listers, I have been looking into the Kinkades of the Ben Dixon Book, namely David Kinkade who married Rebecca Osborn and David's son Andrew.  I found an Edward Leander Kinkade. 1857 Edward Leander Kinkade [000022] born to Rachel Kinkade on April 30, 1857 near Woodsfield, Monroe         County, OH. Ben F. Dixon, Our Book, Our Ancestors, Ourselves, and Our Children, Private Edition,             1932, p. 219.  He is listed as her son in the Ben Dixon book, without listing the father on pages 15         and 219. Andrew Kinkade, born April 11, 1840, married Harriet Scott, in Monroe County, OH, Dec. 9, 1865. Ben F. Dixon, Our Book, Our Ancestors, Ourselves, and Our Children, Private Edition, 1932, p. 15. It would appear that there was a genuine non-paternity event (I don't really like that term either, since paternity occured) or nonmarriage or illegitimate birth, since Edward was born (1857) before Andrew Kinkade married Harriet Scott (1865) Edward could not be attributed to Andrew and Harriet and it appears clear from Ben Dixon's record that Andrew Kinkade who married Harriet Scott was the son of Andrew Kinkade and Ann Tingley and not Samuel Kincaid from the posting in 1997 (he is most likely the son of Robert Kincaid & Susannah Powell).
