Margie, while the 25 marker test won't give us the answers to the mutations in question, it is a start that could be upgraded at a later time. To upgrade one needs only to make a request and send the payment, no more tests are needed. Getting the DNA in the 1st place is the hard part. If you do get a volunteer you might want to impose on him further for documentation that can be used to vet the line. Having the DNA tested gives you the raw information. Being able to unquestionably link the results to an early ancestor gives them genealogical value both to the line and to the group/set the donor is placed in. You might also consider preparing a vetting post for 15550. If you decide to do this, I would be happy to help with format and organization.
