    2. 11. Mother of two has a boyfriend. She gets pregnant. Boyfriend dies. Female Child (age 11) of mother goes to court to petition for a name change to that of mother's deceased boyfriend. Judge grants request. Pregnant mother delivers baby and correctly gives him deceased boyfriend's surname. Female 11 year old grows up and has two children while unmarried. She gives the children the surname of the deceased boyfriend. Only the child born post mortem has the correct DNA. (This is convoluted but very much a true story within my family.) 3. Non Paternity Events > 1. An illegitimate male child to a single woman takes her surname Number 1. was apparently what happened in my husband Ted47327 who was given a middle name of the father who legally said he would raise him after marrying his mother. When Ted took the DNA test he was put in the adoption file. I use the word apparently as his parents are gone, all documents I have confirm what I stated. I personally believe he is the grandson of Isaac and Vina Summers Kincaid but unless a male from their family will take the DNA test my belief means nothing.
