Sue, I'm learning that it has to be a male Kincaid in order to do the DNA. Is there any way for a non-male lineage to plug in? My great grandfather was the last male Kincaid for our family line, but I would be interested to know which line/group of Kincaids we do come from. The tests are done on the Y chromosome, so yes it must be a male who is a direct line descendent of a Kincaid. To find a possible participant you need to find out the names of your great grandfather's sons and see if you can follow one or more of their lines down to a living male who might be willing to do the test for you. It is hard to know what suggestions to give you for doing this without knowing more about your ggrandfather. Suggestions very depending on when he lived so dates are important.
