Dear Kincaid listers: My sister, Marilee and I went to a family reunion in Denver, CO last Saturday. This was for my Dad's first cousin: Fred White's family. Fred's mother and my Dad's mother were sisters and their parents were George Monroe Sharp and Sarah Rebecca Jenkins. What was fascinating about this reunion was the striking resemblence there was between my other sister, Celeste and Fred's daughter Teresa and if my 1st cousin Greg Hoath had been there he would have added another face to that resemblence. They all have the distinctive nose and profile of George Monroe Sharp. I even had Teresa and Celeste stand together so I could get a good photograph of their similiarities. George Monroe Sharp's parents were Gilbert Sharp and Abigail Eastman. I hadn't seen Teresa in almost 25 years thus making her resemblence to Celeste all the more striking. Sincerely Norman Kincaide
What a fun time you must have had. Amazing how the genetic features show up in the generations. My father's side of the family are all small people, 5'3" to 5'8" and so his most of my mother's. Exception: the Kincaid's, my mother's paternal side. Her father was 6' 1", his two sisters were close to 6", and his brother was 6'4". Their father was 6' 2" (born 1852). Since I firmly believe that I come from the Patriarch who was supposedly 6' 4", this tallness (is that a word?) makes sense. By the way, I also have Sharp in my family. Edward (b. 1700) came from Ireland and settled in Lancaster County, PA. His son Henry moved to SC in 1762.
