Mary, I'm slowly incorporating the Ben Dixon book information into my timeline, but I have been putting it into a separate file as well and comparing it with the rest of my data to try to find commonalities with other lines. The early record is too vague to match them up with any other lineage.  A DNA sample would help greatly but I understand that is not a possibility at this time. Going on down through your message to the last paragraph where you mentioned Edward being born in 1857 before Andrew Kinkade married Harriet Scott in 1865 -- is there any chance someone mistyped the date of marriage as 1865 when they meant 1856 -- just a thought. Also, you'll note that Edward Leander Kinkade was not the only Leander --  Joseph and Sarah named their first son Leander Marion Kinkade.
