    3. In your message that did not post as oderly as the one below you stated: "Hi, Peter, I believe that the Widow Kinkead in Tyrone Township is the mother of Andrew & Archibald Kinkead and the following may prove that she is." I was commenting that a reader would debate whether this is proof based on tax lists and deed summaries without descriptions and without addressing other points of concern. One must remember, and I made this point with some of the vetting posts, is that a specialist in a line intimate with all the details can feel that the information they are providing is sufficient to make a point but it does not. The reason being is that the reader does not have all the other details in the poster's head and the reader/critic may have other details in their head that changes their interpretation of the data. Now the last point is key here because there is a lot of dated posts relating to Kincaids in this area which is certainly confusing me. My comment about Thomas Kinkead's sale to David Dunseath has to be expanded in terms of details because one needs to address this in terms of any proof relating to widow Kinkead and other Kinkeads in the are - perhaps simply because of misinformation out there. Let me touch on the issue at hand in terms of dated posts. Back in 2002 you have a post which states: ===== I have done research on the branch of Kincaids from which Clingan Kincaid descends, his father was Thomas Kincaid of Carlisle, Cumberland County, PA, whose father was John Kinkead, merchant of Carlisle 1720-1772, Thomas married Hannah Clingan and moved to Tenn. some time after the Revolutionary War. Sincerely Norman Kincaide ===== Now this was all dated when sample 93625, an apparent descendant of John of Carlisle, did not match sample 9736, a descendant of Thomas Kinkead (married Hannah Clingan). I think what is leading me astray now with the dated data is the notion of Thomas Kinkead (m. Hannah Clingan) having ties to Tyrone Township, Cumberland County, PA. It seems that John the shopkeeper had a son Thomas (m. Hannah) with ties to Tyrone township but this is not the Clingan Thomas. I seems to me now that what is also being suggested is that the other early Tyrone township Kinkeads (widow, Archibald and Andrew) are another family not of the Clingan Thomas line. It also seems to me that what is now suggested is that the Clingan Thomas line was in Hamilton township, Cumberland County, PA. Best wishes!
