    3. Michael, Received the pages in good shape! Thanks mighty much! There are 10 Kincaid men listed on Page 192. No Kinkeads or other spellings. 1 David, 1 George, 3 James, 2 John, 1 Robert & 2 Samuel I assume the initials and numbers in parentheses refer to where Whyte found the information. Does the introduction tell what (K.F.R.), (N.R.), (S.H.), (R.P.C.) & (B.G.E.) stand for? Google maps shows the area called Edinburgh at the southern end of Chesapeake Bay almost to NC state line but there doesn't seem to be an actual incorporated town by that name in VA. I just received a note from Randy Kincaid who tells me the LDS library in Mesa has this book and lots of others so will be visiting it soon. The other local LDS churches we have visited had very limited resources so had not checked Mesa. I'm going to scan the page of Kincaids and send to Don. The info on John simply states: "Kincaid, John. To Virginia before 4 May 1743, when admitted burgess and guildbrother of Edinburgh. (B.G.E.)" I'd gladly scan and send to the group, but I am unsure if attachments like that go through. Can someone enlighten me? 3. One has to be careful with these books as they are not sources but give the impression that they are by giving sources. For example, I am pretty sure that K.F.R. is the Kincaid Family Researches publication put out by Clan Kincaid a number of years ago. There were a lot of undocumented or made up claims made in this which some treated like fact (ie. the four sons of Alexander Kincaid, Lord Provost of Edinburgh). Always check the sources and if they are not an actual record, they are not a reliable source. Peter ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don W. 3. My work day today is nuts and not much better tomorrow, but I'll go look up what the references stand for some time soon. The one I did check yesterday (K.F.R.) stands for "Kincaid Family Researches" held by the Scottish Genealogical Society. My assumption is the SGS in Scotland, but who knows. There was 1 David Kyncade spelling on the 2nd page which seemed to be a dup. of a listing on the first page spelled Kincaid, only it mentions a son David res. in KY. >>> donwkincaid@cox.net 2/11/2009 5:12 PM >>> Michael, Received the pages in good shape!
