Both the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library and the Kansas State Historical Society - History Center?have great collections of books. A few relate to specific families. The public library?catalog can be searched through www.tscpl.org. I am not sure of the Historical Society web address. I just search for them by name when I want to go to the site. The last time I checked, part of their catalog was being put on line. If someone on the list has a specific request for information from a book either place owns, I will be happy to go to the library and look for it as time permits. The genealogy section books in the Topeka library?are reference books and may not be checked out. Any books at the Kansas State Historical Society have to be read in the library research room. They will ILL some microfilms. Both libraries have collections of genealogy magazines. I talked to the lending library yesterday about the Families of Co. Limerick Ireland book by Michael O'Laughlin, and they were supposed to get back with me about the copies they were making?but didn't. They may call today and my director will take the message for me. If there are any Kincaids on this mailing list near Topeka, KS, apparently the genealogical society there has LOTS of books that would probably be good resources and the library too. The lady working at the library said the genealogical society there is very helpful and might even loan their books out, if not make copies/scans. I'll try to find a couple of links. http://tscpl.org??? is the library ?http://skyways.lib.ks.us/orgs/schs/index.html?? I think this is the genealogical society that the librarian told me about. If you don't th ink it is, you can call the genealogical dept of the library and ask where the two volunteers that help them are sent from (I think they are both 'Larry's). Arizona State University, Phoenix Public Library or Mesa Library do not show to have Donald Whyte's book so I thought I would ask the Kincaid List if anyone has looked up this reference and if so which John is this?.? My John is first found in VA in mid 1740's. Thanks for your help! Don Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s about John Kincaid ? ? ? ? ? ? Name: John Kincaid ? ? ? ? ? ?
