I have successfully documented my family back to Thomas S. and Marena (Siverly) Kincaid. I believe Thomas S. Kincaid is the son of James and Polly (Sanders) Kincaid. I have quite a bit of documentation for this, as well, but nothing that nails it down tight. I was hoping that someone has discovered a will or probate record for James Kincaid or other documentation that would help me with this that they would not mind sharing. Or, if not, could someone tell me how to send for the proper documentation? I am not in a position to travel to Illinois (although I'm still feeling out possible family members) or in a position to hire a professional genealogist there to research this. Or maybe someone has another idea for me that I haven't considered? Please do not be offended by my asking for this. Thank you, Debby
All results have been posted for 139833's order of 37 markers. His results match the AAV for Group C set 2 except at marker 34 (CDYa). He has a 35 instead of the AAV 36. He shares this variance with 16491 who believes decent from Robert/Margaret Doherty m 1745 of Alleghany Co. PA through Robert's son Thomas/Mary Mackey. 139833 believes decent from Samuel of PA b 1780 d 1818 m 1808 Phoebe Van Pelt. Also claiming descent from Robert/Margaret Doherty through son Thomas is 79672 and 44937 who claims descent from Robert/Margaret (through son ?) who do not share the above variance. IF the variance is from a single mutation for both 139833 and 16491 then we have several possible scenarios. 1) If all are correct in their lineage then Thomas/Mary did not have this variance and given that there is only 35 years between the marriage of Thomas/Mary and the birth of Samuel, 139833 and 16491 should both descend from the same son of Thomas/Mary or 2) Someone's lineage is incorrect. There is the possibility that the variances derive from parallel mutations as CDYa is quite volatile which leaves 139833's connection to other C-2 Kincaids open. Sue Liedtke
