I would have no clue about how to conduct a vetting of my line back to Thomas/Mary Mackey and Robert/Margaret Doherty. All of the information about my genealogy comes from Alice and her sister. In fact, without their incredible hard work over a lifetime, I would not be able to get past my great grandfather. In all likelihood, I would not even be participating on this web site if I had not stumbled upon Alice's records on the web. And she continues to expand that knowledge base. I cannot thank her enough. This is a long way of saying that I cannot do it, or if I did, I would merely turn over Alice's data base. Alice certainly has my permission and encouragement to do the vetting, whatever is required. I would be happy to help in any way that I can. My "missing link" to her records was overcome when the bible record of my great grandfather's birth showed up in Adams County, Ohio. The fact that a 37-marker match has just turned up for me suggests that Alice's records are correct, at least back to Samuel and Thomas b. 1755. But #139833 may be relying on Alice's records to get back to Samuel too. I have not seen #139833's list of known ancestors yet. Please include your kit number and group/set in any message to me so I can quickly identify who I am talking with. New participants to the DNA project are few. We probably are feeling the effects of the economic downturn. I would like to use this lull to confirm what we do know and fill in any blanks in the chart. I do not have contact information for #124250, 130207, 93625, 98268, 88507, 16596, 4749, 101854, 39227, and 1258. Some of the foregoing may not wish to have contact information on the chart, in other instances it may be an oversight. I do need express permission to put names and/or email addresseses on the chart. I have no ancestor information for 124250, 98268, N38236, and N16412. Group A-1a has 18 unvetted ancestors, A-1b five, A-1c two, A-2a four, A-2b six, A-4 five. Group B has 2 unvetted ancestors. Group C-1 has no vetted ancestors. Group C-2 has 11 unvetted ancestors. Group D has 1 unvetted ancestor. None of the other groupings have any vetted ancestors. Vetting serves 2 purposes. It confirms that the DNA is that of the stated ancestor and allows others to make possible connections to your line.
