    3. If someone was vetted before the current method, they are "grandfathered" in without sending a post or going through the list vetting process. Unfortunately we do not have the lineage information available. You would need to contact each person whose lineage you are interested in. 3. How do we know who has been grandfathered? Is there at least a list of who was vetted and who they were vetted to? Could we have anyone on the list who was vetted earlier send a copy of it to the list so the information would be available to us. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sue Liedtke" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 03, 2011 7:50 PM Subject: Re: [KINCAID] Vetted Kincaids > If someone was vetted before the current method, they are "grandfathered" > in > without sending a post or going through the list vetting process. > Unfortunately we do not have the lineage information available. 3. We didn't keep track of who was vetted before the current process was adopted. Our first administrator was Peter. He did not actually "vet" lines but rather used words in short lineage compilations to indicate his view on whether the line was valid. The chart was developed in its present form while Leslie was administrator. She alone would communicate with participants then tell me when she was vetting a line and who it was to be vetted to. I do not think she required a formal, consolidated listing of each link though I know she did require proof documents before vetting a line. Don and Ruth each went through the vetting process with her and would know better what she required. She would also do some research on her own and may have vetted some lines based on that research. Anyone vetted during her tenure may not have anything to "copy" and would have to develop a post from scratch. While it is desirable and encouraged that all vetted lines make their lineage proofs available, the current administrative team feels that it would be an undo burden to require each participant to go through the vetting process for a second time in order to maintain their vetted statice. It might also be added that some participants are no longer actively doing Kincaid research and would not be interested or able to repeat the process.. Norman has done an excellant job in combing the archives. If a post was made it should be on his site. If a lineage does not appear there, the stated ancestor was likely vetted by Leslie. 3. I did find Ruth's vetting post from 2005 and have added it to the list I have compiled. I add each new vetting post to my compilation once all comments and questions have been addressed and is considered vetted. I'll go through the Kincaid list archives again to see if I missed any. I just found Ruth's vetting post yesterday.
