    3. I plan to extract all Kincaids born in Ireland and Scotland or with parents born in Ireland or Scotland into separate files. This part of the project will have to wait until I finish all the states, Britain and Canada. And there are many African American Kincaids and some listed as mulatto in the census. It would be fascinating to obtain DNA samples from these families. Sincerely Norman Kincaide --- On Tue, 2/1/11, Peter A. Kincaid <[email protected]> wrote: > From: Peter A. 3. I talked to a black Kincaid last week who lives near Castlewood, VA. I was hoping to find a Kincaid of some spelling who might help find a local historian to give a talk to our group during the Kincaid Gathering. What is interesting in his case is that his folks came from Hawkins County, TN where Joseph Kinkead was on of the first settlers and several generations of the descendants of David and Winfred lived. He did not know the origin of his surname but assumed his ancestors slave owners were Kincaid. His wife was a Kincaid whose family was originally from New York and lastly in West Virginia before coming to Virginia. He promised to consider the dna test so we will see.
