Mountain Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Kenneth Kincaid Sr. DOVER — Kenneth R. Kincaid Sr., 88, of Dover, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital after a period of failing health. He was born June 28, 1922, in Dover, the son of George and Beatrice (Snyder) Kincaid, graduated from Dover High School, class of 1940, attended McIntosh College and had resided in Dover all of his life. He was a U.S. Navy Seabees veteran, having served during World War II. Ken had worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard until his retirement in 1978. Following his retirement from the Navy yard, he founded Ken Kincaid Associates, specializing in real estate and accounting. He had a lifelong love of baseball, starting as a player for Dover High School and continuing through men's leagues. He enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League and Babe Ruth. He was a die-hard Red Sox Fan. He was active in various civic clubs and was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award from the Dover Rotary. Ken was instrumental in the growth of the Dover Food Pantry, where he was chairman for 30 years. He received many honors for his charity work with the food pantry; the most noteworthy was being selected as the Dover Citizen of the Year in 1994. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Members of his family include his wife of 61 years, Helen (Koutrelakos) Kincaid of Dover; three children, Karen Davis of Dover, Kenneth Kincaid Jr. and his wife, Maureen, of Westborough, Mass., and Richard Kincaid of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Stephanie Hashem and her husband, John, Jeff Pierce, Conor Kincaid and Meghan Kincaid; two great-grandchildren, Alexandria Hashem and Logan Pierce; one brother, George Kincaid and his wife, Shirley, of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Dorothy Dandreau of Dover and Lucille Patch and her husband, Roland, of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 28 Cataract Ave., Dover.
