    2. Kenneth Kinkade(1932 - 2011) Kenneth Kinkade passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, in Fort Worth. Service: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Gordon, the Rev. Randy Newberry officiating. Burial: will follow in New Gordon Cemetery directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn. Kenneth will lie in state at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Friday. The family will receive visitors at their home at 825 Coalville Rd., Gordon, on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. Memorials: The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Tri-City-Ambulance in Gordon, Texas or Harris Hospital Klabzuba Heart Center CVICU, Fort Worth. Kenneth was born Jan. 21, 1932, near Bonham to Matthew Lee and Gertrude Stone Kinkade. He attended school in Gober. He was a bareback rider and bull rider in the late '40s and early '50s and a member of the old Rodeo Cowboys Association. After hanging his spurs up, he married Barbara Pitman on Sept. 18, 1954, and was baptized and became a member of Birdville Baptist Church. He was a paint and drywall contractor in the North Texas area for the next 50 years. Kenneth was a great family man who put his kids and grandkids first. He was a hunter and outdoorsman who loved horses, the mountains and old Ford tractors. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, A.L., Leon, Charles and Jerry Kinkade; and sisters, Peggy Garrett, Gaynell Toney and Virginia Ann Ryder. Survivors: His wife of 56 years, Barbara Kinkade; brother, Harvey Kinkade of Burleson; son, Jeff and wife, Paula, of Bedford; daughter, Brenda Smith and husband, Larry, of China Spring; grandchildren, Melinda Shows and husband, Brock, of Liberty Hill, Justin Smith and wife, Kim, of Greenwood, Trey Smith and Whitney Wade of China Spring, and Daniel Kinkade of Bedford; and great-granddaughter, Brynlyn Shows.
