    3. Was there a particular document that gives Andrew Hamilton's wife as Martha Kinkead? Or was this someone assuming she was a Kinkead because they were neighbours. I have seen references to a passenger list of 1733 (Ship Hope) but the same information is given for what may be interpreted as a passenger list of 1775 (Charming Molly). 3. This list of ships departing in 1775 shows that the 'Charming Molly' left from Dover, not Belfast. Ship Arrivals / Departures at Ports in England, 1775 This information was extracted from Lloyd's Evening Post (which used the old form of the letters). http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/Arrivals/ships1775.html Possibly the correct information with the name of the ship and date of departure is on the page that is missing, i.e. the page previous to the Andrew Hamilton, Martha Kinkead Hamilton, Archibald Hamilton names that are shown on the top of this page. http://www.angelfire.com/folk/rhamilton/robship.htm Barbara -----Original Message----- From: Peter A. 3. Peter, The url leads to a charming picture labeled Screensaver???? It would indeed help if the the whole Ship Hope passenger list was available so we could see for ourselves what was actually written. This was posted by Barb on April 8, 2005 and is from The Hamilton Family GenForum, March 25, 2005, message #9939. The reference given is: Immigrant list of Ships Passengers Outgoing Book 10 page 302 1733-35 Ship Hope. Master Robert Coatham Owner, Coweds Shipping Line London and Copenhagen Date of 29 Apr. 1733 last from Belfast 168 passengers 118 Males over 21 23 females 18 and over, 10 females under 16, 17 children under 10 years #110 Archibald Hamilton Res. Ards County Downs #111 Wife Frances #112 Martha Hamilton Unmarried Age 17 Andrew Hamilton age 24 #113 wife Martha Kinkead Hamilton age 21 (note that the number 113 might be misplaced. Andrew should be 113 and Martha 114 if the pattern were to hold) I would be suspicious of the 1775 date as Archibald/Frances are in Augusta Co. quite a bit before that. He wrote his Augusta Co. will in 1787 naming wife Frances. Children: William, John, Audley, Andrew, Archibald and a dau m to John Cunningham. Martha Hamilton (#112 above) m James Henderson in 1738.
