M.D. Sodus: Martha Symonds Kincaid, M.D. died September 19, 2012 after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. Martha died at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born March 29th, 1947, to Frederick W. Kincaid Jr. and Alice L. Symonds, Martha is survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard F. Endres M.D.; sons Nathan Kincaid Endres M.D. (wife Tamara Rimash M.D.), Eric Kincaid Endres of Brooktondale, NY and Peter Kincaid Endres of Cambridge, MA; and grandson, Alden Paul Endres of Shelburne, VT; sisters Alice K. Putnam (husband John) of Holland Patent, NY, Margaret K. Clemons (husband Reginald) of Prospect, NY; brothers Frederick W. Kincaid, III (wife Danielle) of Holland Patent, NY and Charles H. Kincaid (wife Robin) of Auburn, NY. Martha was born in Utica and raised in Barneveld, NY. Valedictorian of her class of Holland Patent Central in 1965, she proceeded to complete her undergraduate education at the University of Rochester in 1969 and a medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University in 1973. Dr. Kincaid performed her pediatric internship at the Medical College of Virginia, and pediatrics residency at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Kincaid entered private practice in 1976 in Sodus, and with her husband, helped build the Rochester General Wayne Medical Group. She spearheaded the teenage family planning program, healthcare for migrant children, and the Sodus school health program. Later in her professional career, she lent her talents to the Sodus Board of Education for nine years, serving as its president for seven years, and the Alasa Academy Alternative Education Project. Martha raised three sons on the apple farm where she and her husband have lived for 31 years. She enjoyed music, art, reading, golf, skiing, travel, poetry, and most of all, being around her many friends and family members.
