Sue sent this to the list in 2002: Thomas Feemster was on land patented by William Lewis. Thomas sold to the Reverand John Montgomery in 1764, who sold to Alexander Taylor in 1792. John had other land in the area. John was also mininster at the first Windy Cove Presp. Church. He performed marriages for James Kincaid and Jean Curry in 1791, William Kincaid and Elizabeth Fawcett in 1800, Charles Lewis and Jane Dickenson in 1799. A daughter church to Windy Cove was the on the John Dean Land on the Jackson River. STUARTS CREEK: Up the creek were Gillespies (Thomas Gillespy's 1785 will names wife Eleanor, sons: John, Thomas, Jacob, Samual, James and William daus.: Mary Donally, Hannah Jones, Jane ?, Eleanor and Ann). James Stuart sold his land at the mouth to to Richard Mathews who sold in 1802 to JOSEPH KINCAID. THOMAS KINCAID was granted in 1796 70a on both sides of Stuarts Creek, a branch of the Cowpasture c John Edda and James Bleaks line. JOSEPH & THOMAS KINCAID bought land from John Eddy in 1793. Other names in the area: Fitzpatrick, Hall, Mitchell, and McCay http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/kincaid/2002-07/1027535785 A little more on the last post (from Sue) The father of Jean Curry who m James Kinkead 1791 was Robt Curry. Joseph Kinkead was a witness. So this looks like Stuart Creek area ***************** There is a letter in the RW pension file for Joseph Kinkead of Woodford County, KY, pension or land applied for by his son Thomas U Kinkead. This letter was from a descendant, suggesting that James Kinkead/Jean Curry was a brother of Joseph. Jane Dickenson (Charles Lewis) was a sister of the Nancy Dickenson who married Joseph Kinkead. After some delay due to travel, Grant has posted the chart showing #241829 as vetted and has placed his vetting post in the lineages section of the Kincaid DNA project website at www.kincaiddna.org Grant's donation of time, expertise and server space in hosting the project website is much appreciated. Besides the chart and vetted lineages the website has information on DNA testing and links to other sites valuable for Kincaid research. This chart does not reflect Peter's recent discovery proving that #1477's ancestor George of County Tyrone, Ireland b c1805 was indeed the brother of Peter's ancestor David of Londonderry, Ireland b 1798. The next time I send a chart to Grant a notation to that affect will be included. While some project members have ordered more complex tests in the last few months, there are at present no basic tests pending so it might be some time before I send another chart to Grant.
