The point you make is significant in that the reference to "distant relative" and "uncle" is in the information in the bios for JC Skeen & Joseph Byson Kincaid when referencing George Blackburn Kincaid. It does point to Robert d c1795 Rockbridge Co. being related to Capt. Wm. The connection adds some substance to the hypothesis that Robert of Rockbridge is Robert/Anna Helena. I do wish evidence would turn up naming Robert of Rockbridge's wife. We do need a DNA participant from one of the lines tracing back to Robert of Rockbridge in order to confirm he was A-1a. There are several family groups represented in Greater Augusta Co. and they seem to interact with each other as if they were all from the same family. Early researchers made connections assuming that they were one family. It is only through DNA that we have been able to figure out who was genetically related to whom. How do you know that Robert of Rockbridge had a son Andrew?
