Merry Christmas to all. This Kincaid household had a great and exciting Christmas this year, as we had a 3 week early emergency C-section delivery of Jacob Edgar Kincaid, son of Kyle Jacob and Jenni Kincaid. Jenni went into labor at 3 pm on Christmas day and Jacob was born by 4 pm. Both mother and baby are doing great. He weighed 6 lbs. 61/2 oz., and is 18 1/2 inches long. Ancestor is Thomas Kincaid and Martha Wyatt. I hope that all are having a great holiday season. Meredith Kincaid

The 12 marker test results for 128544 have been returned. The results match Group A Apparent Ancestral Values. No other markers were ordered and the first 12 marker matches can fall apart with further testing. I do urge the participant to order an upgrade to 37 markers. Since this participant is a Kincaid I will place him in the Group A undetermined section. Sue Liedtke

Did Patrick Kincaid marry Mary Stanhope or Mary Stanwood? The following website, "Murray of Stanhope" shows the ancestors of Wilhemina Carolina Kerr who married Alexander Kincaid, Provost of Edinburgh. "ix. Happy Boxing day Richard Welcome to the KINCAID list. There are several here who can help you. I descend from David, the other "Kincaidsofmaine"line, but have made a tree of Patrick's family as well. Linda Kincaid Adams of Washington would be a direct cousin of yours! I am not sure if Linda still reads the list, but we can put you in touch with her. We also have one of Patrick,s descendants in the DNA program. Patrick actually was in Boothbay Maine before he went to Brunswick where he married Mary Stanhope. Please post what you know of your branch here so that we can connect you with Patrick. Merry Christmas from Oregon where we are having some devastating storms, but will pull out of it as usual. Aren't humans wonderful? They can go through horrible calamities and still keep going on. I just read of some of the things my grandfather went through - things I did not know about when I lived with him - and am amazed at the gentle, kind, loving person I knew. Happy New Year, everyone. Another crossing with Bairds occurred in Greenbrier Co. VA James Kincaid b 1748 d 10/15/1811 m Rosanna Baird. The bonds for the marriage are dated 16th January 1786. They are signed by James Kinkead and William Renick. James is buried in the "Old Stone Church" in Lewisburg. On Feb. 25, 1812 there was a deed of heirs with Wm and Rebeccah Handley (m 1807) and Elizabeth Kincaid , children & heirs of James Kincaid sold 145a to Samuel Kincaid also a child of James. The land was near Lewisburg on the plains on the way to Muddy Creek. Capt.Samuel Kincaid b 1787 d 1/28/1828 m 1819 Elizabeth Feemster. Both are buried at the Old Stone Church. In March 1828 Rosanna released any dower rights she may have as widow of James Kincaid to Elizabeth as widow of Samuel, son of James. This is the same court where letters of administration are granted Eliz. Kincaid & John Feamster on estate of Samuel Kincaid. There appears to be close association between James/Rosanna Baird Kincaid, Samuel/Margaret Clark Kincaid (Group c-2) and George/Margaret Rennick Kincaid. A John Baird held 315a in Greenbrier in 1783. Very interesting on the Bairds! This is not likely the same Baird family but possibly the same. "Thanks Barbara for the great info on Mary Kincaid Barksdale(Braxdale) Bard ( Baird). This website states Bard married Mary Kincaid Braxdale in 1779, however one of the most prolific researchers of descendants of Joseph Kinkead, died 1774 in Albemarle Co.. VA, Ron Lepeska, states John Barksdale died in 1782. Good Morning all Kincaid's! On Duncan Digest I found this. thought I would share. Hope this helps some one. Have a Merry Christmas All! Treasa Kincaid Bond Brookman BRIEF HISTORY: Part of General Nathaniel Taylor's brigade, this regiment was scattered throughout the Creek territory and the vicinity of Mobile to man the various forts in the region: Forts Jackson, Montgomery, Claiborne, and Pierce. Some of the companies participated in the taking of Pensacola (7 November1814) from Spanish authorities that were accused by Jackson of supporting British troops there. Loury resigned on 20 November 1814 and Lieutenant Colonel Leroy Hammonds took over as commander. The regiment was plagued by disease during its tenure in the Mississippi Territory. For example, a morning report of Captain Asahel Rains on 6 January 1815 shows twenty-seven on the sick list and twenty-seven additional men required to take care of the sick (totaling half the company). MEN MOSTLY FROM: Davidson, Warren, Humphreys, Lincoln, Maury, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, White, and Williamson Counties. CAPTAINS: James Craig, Thomas Delaney, James Kincaid, John Looney, Gabriel Mastin, Asahel Rains, George Sarver, James Tubb, Thomas Wells, Joseph N.
