    1. [KINCAID] John Kincaid and House of Reps 1829-1830
    2. Does anyone happen to know the identity of the John Kincaid who served in the House of Representatives during the years of 1829-1830? A John Kincaid is listed on the "Letters of Delegates to Congress", dated Jan. 17th, 1785. A John W. Kincaid is listed for an appointment as the 2nd Lt./Artillery, Virginia, for the U.S. Army on May 13th, 1812. Then promoted to 1st Lt. dated May 17th, 1816. A William Kincaid of Vermont, be referred to the Committee of Claims, dated Dec. 6th, 1806. Has anyone else viewed the "American State Papers", held by the Library of Congress? It is filled with a vast amount of information concerning "Kincaids". I pulled up over 200 documents with the Kincaid name in them. The following is the web address to the "American State Papers". On the left hand side of the page, click on the underlined "Search this Title through the Collections Search Page". In the big box (near the middle of the page), under NOTE, I typed in "Kincaid", and hit "Search". It will reveal over 200 documents with the word "Kincaid" in it. I did not try other spellings of our name. For a relatively new researcher, such as myself, it was very exciting to see all these words, written by our forefathers, who's goal was to see their dreams come true. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/amlaw/lwsp.html Kelly Kincade-Lewis dau of Robert Kincade #129770

    2. Sue Liedtke
    3. This is an important vetting post. Though Bob has been vetted by Leslie back to George Washington, we both feel it is prudent to make his lineage available to the list. We have test results from 135736 who also believes descent from the same George Washington. 135736 does not have the major divisional difference at marker 15 (DYS459b) that Bob has. All other test results from Fayette Co. WVA Kincaids are Group A-1. Bob's results are the only A-2 results from the area. There is reason to believe that George Washington was an integral part of the Fayette family and not an isolated new arrival. If 135736 can also be vetted back to George Washington, I intend to declare Bob's mutation as isolated downline from their first common ancestor. I do want to make sure there are no questions or reservations about either lineage before I do this. 1. [KINCAID] William Cincade in 1840 Hamilton Co. TN
    2. Found in the 1840 census of Hamilton Co., TN, was Thomas Kincaid Clingan (age 40/49), grandson of Thomas Kincaid and Hannah Clingan. Found there also was William Cincade (age 40/49), with two males 10/14, one female under 5, 2 females 5/9, one female 20/29, and one female 30/39. No William Cincade/Kincaid with the proper family distribution was found in 1850 TN, so it is not known in which state he was born. The father of this William Cincaid must have been born about 1770 or before. Does anyone have information on a William Kincaid in 1840 Hamilton Co, TN, or on any Kincaid who left a will after 1790 in which a son William was named? It is of some interest that a William Kincaid was a buyer at the estate sale of William Clingan (uncle of Hannah Clingan) in 1790 West Caln Township of Chester Co. PA, although he was not listed there in the 1790 census. Thanks for any information, RGC ************** A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! 1. [KINCAID] Germany-Cologne's Archives Building Collapses; 3 Missing, Many Escape

    3. Cologne's Archives Building Collapses; 3 Missing, Many Escape The Associated Press is reporting that Cologne, Germany's six-story city archive building groaned then collapsed in a pile of rubble Tuesday as people inside fled in panic. All managed to escape safely but police said three people were feared missing in other damaged buildings nearby. The archive building collapsed about 2 p.m., ripping open and dragging down parts of two adjacent buildings that contained apartments and an amusement arcade. A huge cloud of dust enveloped the site. Alerted by rumbling sounds that preceded the collapse, all staff and visitors at the Cologne archive were able to get out in time without injuries, fire department director Stephan Neuhoff said. There was no immediate word on the condition of the archive's contents, but a regional government official, Lutz Lienenkaemper, promised help in salvaging them. Cologne has archive material going back over centuries, including manuscripts by communist pioneers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and documents related to German writer Heinrich Boell. You can read more, as well as view photos, at http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gCt3VjxRz11DYrr9VlDKlzf3nIWgD96MQ2EG1 --- UPDATE: CNN also has a story and pictures. The CNN story states, "Rescuers do not know if anyone is alive in the rubble." The main building which collapsed is the Historic Archive of the city of Cologne, which houses documents up to 1,000 years old.
