    3. Carol, Like you, I believe Thomas/Isabella to be son of Mt Tom/Polly Davis. However, we have not been able to convince the researcher for the DNA sample from Thomas/Eliza Townsend (Eliza is Thomas/Isabella's second wife). Do you have information that bolsters the connection? We have the presence of "Mary, widow" in the 1850 household of newly married Thomas/Isabella and the knowledge that Thomas/Isabella received land originally belonging to Thomas, son of Samuel of the 3 wives. Details of the land transfers are complicated and best left to another time.     3. Did John/Mary Thompson have any sons who may have Kinkead descendents? And can it definately be proven that John/Mary is son of Matthew? It is my suspicion that Thomas/Hannah Tincher may be Matthew's brother. If so then this line should be A-1a. If the line is A-1b then John the Weaver would be a possible brother or cousin to David/Winnefred and Joseph of Albemarle Co. If Dennis House is correct that John the Weaver is the same man as John of Bath then the DNA should be Group D. This is a long running argument that can only be solved when a vettable DNA sample from Matthew's line can be found. Matthew is the only provable son to John the Weaver.     3. I've been reading these posts for several months with interest - especially after touring Scotland this past August and staying overnight at the Kincaid House in Campsie. I have not had dna testing and am unsure how it might benefit me or others. I am of the New York state Kincaids (Utica area) and can substantiate my direct fraternal line back as follows: Frederick W. Kincaid III (me) 02/26/1944 - Frederick W. Kincaid Jr. 04/18/1904 - 09/30/1974 Frederick W. Kincaid Sr. 05/04/1867- 01/26/1936 James Carlise Parshall Kincaid Sr. 05/301840 - 09/15/1919 George Kincaid 10/12/1818 - 03/29/1893 (records indicate he was born at some point during his parents' voyage from Dublin, Ireland to New York City.) George Kincaid I have no records concerning him but know that he and his wife (Margaret Culbertson) were born in Scotland.     3. Hi, Fred, A DNA test by you would show a direct DNA link back to Scotland and would either validate Kincaid DNA samples from Scotland or Ireland by matching those samples. Or if your DNA did not match, then your line would indicate a separate lineage.     3. David Kincaid was known from several sources to be in Boston in 1684. David owned 40 acres that he called "Campsie" located near the town of Oyster River. (Now Durham NH) He married The widow Ann Tozier Jenkins (Her husband, Steven Jenkins had been killed in the Oyster River massacre July 18, 1694) David and Ann had a son Napthali. His baptism records still exist in the Durham Community Church. Napthali bapt. at Oyster River 31 March 1716-17 married Christian Rand, 7 Dec 1717, who was bapt. 18 July 1725. He Moved to Sheepscott where he petitioned for garrison protection 17 Feb 1743-4. He was killed by the Indians near Fort St George, 27 Sept 1745. Lists 368 b, 369 ( C. T. Libby) One of Napthali's sons was David, (b. abt 1720 at Oyster River NH) who married Mary Lambert. David and Mary' son David (b. abt.1758) married Mary Brown. This David and Mary':s son Samuel (b.1791) married Betsey Soule. Their son, Samue Leonidas (b.abt 1834) married Ann Teresa Butterfield. My g grandfather John Kinkead was born in Ashland, Ashland Ohio, and He maried Rachel Ann Drague. she Died December 23 1898. in Lebanon, Redwillow, Nebraska. and John Died I think June 1910, in Lebanon, Redwillow, Nebraska. I ve followed the drague line back to the late 1700's in France and England. but I can't get any farther with the Kinkead line.My grandfather was Robert Adelbet Kinkead b 1881 Lebanon, Redwillow, Nebraska d June 1958 in King Co. Washington, he married Nora Elizabeth Jackson b 1880, in Missouri, d june 1962 King Co. Washington. My father was Robert Micheal Kinkead. b May 29, 1914, Ainsworth, Brown, Nebraska, d March 3, 1973 Salt Lake City, Utah. Patricia, I believe your line goes back to Alexander Kinkead, this is from the old Kincaid DNA project page: Sincerely Norman Kincaide Alexander Kinkead came to America around 1771 at the age of 18 and settled in Christiana Bridge, New Castle, Delaware. He was a clockmaker with another kinsman by the name of Joseph Kinkead. He moved to Elkton, Cecil County, Maryland where he died on 1 October 1841. He was the father of George William Kincaid (18 October 1792 Elkton, Maryland, USA - 22 June 1872 Marion, Iowa, USA). George William Kincaid married Sarah Clouse in 1824 in Wayne County, Ohio. He served in the War of 1812, moved to Ohio about 1820, and finally settled in Iowa about 1855. George and Sarah Kincaid were the parents of James Kincaid. James married first Martha Dragoo and secondly Elizabeth Meyers. James died in 1899 in Linn County, Iowa. James and Martha Dragoo were the parents of Charles H. The grandson of John the Merchant, John Kinkead had several land transactions in what became Perry County, PA. But so far I have determined the grandson had daughters and he appeared to be very well to do. His daughters lived in Landisburg, Perry County. 1850 Jane Kinkade, [93625] age 45, born PA, Landisburg Township, Perry County, PA. USFC, p. 289. 1850 Susannah Kinkade, [93625] age 42, born PA, Landisburg Township, Perry County, PA. USFC, p. 289. Brian's vetting post didn't make any connection with this family. If Brian's William Kincaid came from Ireland he would have been a naturalized citizen with some kind of record, oath of allegiance and registration.
