Dear Kincaid Listers, A Kincaid Orphan Lineage file has been created . These are lineages for which there is no known living descendant. There is considerable information on these lineages or individuals. By creating this file it is hoped that someone will recognize an individual in one of these lineages that may lead to a living descendant. From there perhaps a DNA sample could be submitted. I have started with James Kinkead, Watchmaker, from Strabane, County Tyrone, Ireland and Rev. John Kinkead of Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Sincerely Norman Kincaide

Dear Kincaid listers, I have also reorganized the Kincaids of Pennsylvania Timeline into smaller files and have eliminated the volume numbers. Hopefully, these smaller files will load easier and will be small enough to accommodate future growth. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kincaide/Kincaid%20Ancestors%20of%20Pennsylvania%20Timeline/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kincaide/ Sincerely Norman Kincaide

Dear Kincaid listers, The Kincaids in 1880 Census files were too large so I reorganized them into the following breakdown with some states with some states comprising one file: Sincerely Norman Kincaide Alabama 29 Arizona 2 Arkansas 85 California 175 Colorado 30 Connecticut 20 Dakota Territory 13 Delaware 2 District of Columbia 2 Florida 25 Georgia 126 Idaho 8 Illinois 557 Indiana 380 Iowa 226 Kansas 315 Kentucky 504 Louisiana 41 Maine 135 Maryland 39 Massachusetts 86 Michigan 98 Minnesota 13 Mississippi 175 Missouri 729 Montana 6 Nebraska 104 Nevada 22 New Hampshire 12 New Jersey 89 New Mexico 1 New York 276 North Carolina 296 Ohio 619 Oregon 49 Pennsylvania 366 Rhode Island 0 South Carolina 35 Tennessee 440 Texas 189 Utah 0 Vermont 6 Virginia 130 Washington 52 West Virginia 605 Wisconsin 24 Wyoming 0
The first panel has been returned for 194064's order to 37 markers. He matches Group A Appearant Ancestral Values at all markers. I do not have specific earliest ancestor information. The first panel (markers 1-12) results are now coming back well ahead of the other panels so it may be several weeks before we know if the matching will hold and which set he belongs to. Sue Liedtke
Dear Norm and May; Thank you very much for your good wishes. Mother and child are well. One is gaining weight while the other is (thankfully) losing! I am heading for Arizona to represent Clan Kincaid at the Caledonian Games in Phoenix this coming weekend - should be a busy time renewing friendships and spreading the good word about Clan Kincaid. I don't know when I will get back to Grand Junction but rest assured I will drop by for a visit if I am in the neighbourhood. I googled and found the obit. I wonder where the name Kinkead came in - his mother's surname was Bishop. John Kinkead Stiles John Kinkead Stiles John Kinkead Stiles, 20, born March 20, 1989, crossed over on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 after a 20-month battle with leukemia. He overcame difficulty after difficulty with a drive and determination few ever possess until the Lord said enough and brought him home. He was a 2007 graduate of Liberty Hill High School. He played football his freshman and sophomore year until a knee injury turned his attentions to other interests. He was a member of multiple UIL judging teams and excelled at wildlife competition. He was active in student council and multiple other interests. He completed the requirements as an Eagle Scout in 2004 from troop 161 in Leander. He was an avid outdoorsman and liked nothing better than to be in the field. He was a sixth generation Texan and the fifth generation to work the family farm in Thrall. His most valued possessions were his family and friends. He was a junior at Texas A&M University if the College of Agriculture. He planned to complete an undergraduate degree in either ag economics or finance and then go on to complete an MBA and then law school. He was overjoyed to be at Texas A&M and was in a good place in his life when he passed on. He was a father's joy and I could not have asked for a better son. He challenged, he tested, but he never disappointed me. He is survived by his father, Franklin N. Stiles Jr. D.V.M.; his mother, Cynthia Bishop; his brother, Adam Stiles; his sister, Bethany Stiles; his aunts, Gail Brown and Frances Stiles; his grandmother, Florence Wallace Stiles; and multiple cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Franklin Stiles Sr., and his beloved uncle, Martin Stanley Brown. Donations may be made to the John Kinkead Stiles memorial fund at the Austin Telco in Leander if desired. Services will be held Saturday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Westside Church of Christ, 3300 FM 1431 Round Rock. Interment will follow at the Stiles Cemetery in Thrall. Dear Kincaid listers, Although I have completed the 1880 Project, I recognized, too late in the project, that I should separate individual households with a space. I am currently in the process of getting that done. It will take me a while, but this should make individual households more easily identifiable. Sincerely Norman Kincaide
Sad to hear! I spoke to both he and his sister. His father was Rev. George Gillespie Kincaid who was born in County Donegal, Ireland. Rev. George's parents were George Kincaid and Catherine Gillespie. George's father was Hugh Kincaid, a miller, who at onetime was of Kilcadden. Rev. Joseph Kinkead had ties to Kilcadden so I suspected he was of the Baronscourt Kinkeads. I thought a DNA test someday might confirm this. My sympathies to the family! Best wishes! Norman, thank you for this. My Kinkeads are the Elizabeth and Dora listed in Oakland, Alameda Co., CA. Though the spelling of the name in the census is Kincaid, all of our family records - birth, death, marriage - list the spelling as Kinkead. Elizabeth was the wife of William who died in Oakland in 1878 and whose death certificate noted his birth place as Woodford, KY. William and his family arrived in California in 1849. William and Elizabeth's daughter, Emily, was my great-great-grandmother. I have no idea what line they were from. -Melissa Oakland, CA -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Norman Kincaide Sent: Saturday, February 12, 2011 8:50 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [KINCAID] 1880/1881 Project Dear Kincaid listers, I have completed the 1880 Unites States Federal Census of Kincaids and the British/Canadian 1881 Census of Kincaids and they are now posted to my Index of Kincaide: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kincaide/ I hope to add all of the lineages from the DNA chart to each volume, but I wanted to make these volumes available as soon as possible and made available for research.
