    3. Hi Betty Jane, Did I read you message correctly that your line was originally Kimel and became Kimble with John Kimble, Sr? I've been looking into the origins of my 5th gggrandparents, George and Catharina Kimel, for some time. They lived in Rowan Co., NC. Up 'til now I have assumed they moved from Pennsylvania before 1770, because they were Lutherans and lived in an area where there were significant numbers of people of German ancestry, known locally as "the Pennsylvania Germans." I think there is the possiblity they were members of the Bermudian Lutheran Church of York Co. PA, listed as Georg and Catharina Kuemmel, before 1770. However, I may be wrong, and my Georg Kimel may be one of your John Kimble/Kimel, Jr.'s missing sons. I believe my Georg Kimel was born ca. 1751.
