    3. Hi Everyone, I am from the Kimble/ Kimmels from Va. We have not yet proven our first Kimmel in America (Tim thinks that it might be a Johannes Nickolas Kimel on the ship the Brothers to Philadelphia Sept 1754 aka John Kimble). Our Kimble/Kimmels are definitely musical also. Music was and still is very important to them. When I grew up I thought that ALL families were musical and I felt it odd when I encountered a family not related that was not. There are many people who are Kimbles or descendant of Kimbles that have recorded songs in WVa and also Va. My Grandfather was a very gifted musician. He could not read music and never had a lesson yet he could play Guitar, Violin, Harmonica, Banjo, and French Harp. He only needed to listen to a song once and he could play it perfectly. He always played with his eyes closed so that he could HEAR the music. He was often asked by his sons and friends if he would teach them how to play. " Just listen to it and you will be able to play", he would say. I have many fond memories of sitting at Granddad's knees as a child while he played and sang for us. My father and his brothers as well as many cousins also play musical instruments. Our family immediate and distant are musically inclined. I find it interesting that the other Kimmels on this list are also musically inclined. It must be in the genes &/or the culture.
