Flyers about the Kimmel reunion sponsored by descendants of David & Leah Riegel Kimmel are going in the mail today. Here's the schedule: Friday, July 7 Gordon Bower will greet early arrivals from out-of-town at the Ramada Inn in Lawrence, KS. A room will be set up to get acquainted. Dinner is "on your own." The Ramada is at the WEST exit of I-70 in Lawrence. Saturday, July 8, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. registration, mingling, displays, scrapbooks, photo albums. Introduce yourself, tell your story. In the Haskell & Oread Rooms at Ramada Inn, Lawrence. Lunch is on your own. 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. Supper, talent show, sing-a-long, raffle/auction, get acquainted. At First United Methodist Church, 10th & Vermont in downtown Lawrence. Sunday, at McLouth, KS (20 miles north from Lawrence. Take Highway 24 north to the old Midway General Store, where you'll make a left turn on to county road 1045, blacktop all the way to McLouth. An easy drive and pretty.) The Kimmels will be meeting at the RED BARN at the east city limits of McLouth on Highway 16. McLouth is a town of 700 people, half of them kin to Kimmels, so you can't get lost. Genealogy discussions ongoing. 8:00-9:00 a.m. Registration. Coffee and rolls. 10:00 a.m. Worship and memorial service. Special song by children. 11:30 a.m. Family Sunday lunch. 1:00 p.m. Meeting. Comments and plants for next reunion. 2:30 p.m. Tour of Kimmel sites, president, historical, and cemetery. 3:30 p.m. Adjourn. As you can see, all activities will not be held at the Ramada Inn in Lawrence. Logistically, we couldn't make it happen. All Kimmel displays will be exhibited at the Ramada Inn on Saturday and at McLouth on Sunday. Costs of EACH of the two meals will be somewhere in the range of $7-$10.00. Children's rates are being negotiated. Beverly Sanders Muzzy is asking for a commitment headcount by Apirl 15.
