Baker? According to the 1900 census (Morrill Twp., Brown Co., KS) he was born in MO in Jan 1859. Apparently he married Susannah Elizabeth Kimmel as a second wife, about 1883-4. They took out a license to marry in Brown Co., KS, but never returned it. They may have married in Falls City, NE, or elsewhere. The 1900 census lists two children who were born before his marriage to Susannah Elizabeth (who frequently went by "Lizzie"). They were Katie born KS in Jul 1879, and Bert born KS in Aug 1881. John and Lizzie had the following children (all born in KS): George R. born Apr 1888, Ruby N. born Mar 1890, Archibald born Apr 1892, Stephen born Jan 1894, and Ben born May 1897. John and Lizzie are in the 1910 census in Morrill Twp. as well. It says his father was born in MO and his mother in VA. Lizzie was a daughter of Noah M. Kimmel and Catherine Miller. She was raised Brethren, but I don't know if John K. Baker was Brethren. Lizzie was a sister of my great grandmother, Mary Ellen (Kimmel) Kistner.
