Died 1708 in Petterweil, Mayor and Marksmaster in Petterweil. Married to Marie Elizabeth Schwalf. ii. John Michel Kimmel Born in 16625 in Aeisheim. Died in Gimbsheim in 1734. Resident and juryman in Gimbsheim. Was the originator of the American family tree. jj. John George Kimmel Born 1677 in Gimbsheim and liver[d] in Erich on Rhine. This document has been in the hands of the Anthony Kimmel family at Mt. Airy, Maryland for some time. Was translated from the German in March, 1933. COPY "To His Excellency, Baron von Fastrow, Military councellor to the Court of His Serene Highness, the Prince Elector of the Palatinate, Lieutenant General of the Infantry and Governor of the Residence and Fortress Mannheim, the Colonel and Commander of the Hon. Regiment of the Grenadier Guards; BE IT KNOWN TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Whereas the bearer of this, Michael Kimmel, a native of Aschbach bailiwick of Heidelberg, has in the year 1743, with his own free will, transferred himself from the Militia of the Palatinate to the above mentioned Regiment of the Grenadier Guards; renewing his engagement for three years and three months and during all that time, has in the discharge of all his duties conducted himself in such a manner as to merit the satisfaction of all; AND WHEREAS his time of service had expired and he now intends trying his fortunes elsewhere and in that end in due form has requested his discharge; THEREFORE I herewith and by virtue of this have been pleased to grant his request (he having at all times received his rations and pay and his well earned money having been paid to him) THEREFORE I politely request every one not only to let pass and repass the above mentioned one, Michael Kimmel, through all places safe and unmolested but also on account of his faithful services and correct deportment, to show him kindness and advance his interest. In return, I am willing to do the same on similar and other occasions. In testimony whereof I have signed with my own hand this certificate of discharge and placed thereonto my own seal of Nobility; Done in the Prince Electors residence and Fortress, Mannheim, this 3rd day of August, 1746.
