Some years ago when it was believed every American Kimmel just HAD to be related to Johann Michael of Gimbsheim, there was the conjecture that the Johann Jacob who came to Philadelphia in 1750 and died near Orwigsburg, PA in 1793 was a son of Johann Michael's brother Johann Georg. Alsheim and Eich church records (those on microfilm in Salt Lake City) don't show that Johann Georg had a son Johann Jacob. He had at least three wives: Maria Salome who died in 1722, Anna Maria (last name illegible) whom he married in Alsheim in 1722 and who died in 1737 in Eich, and Anna Maria Dorothea Maüer (there's that "Alt 129" letter ü again) whom he married at Alsheim in 1741 and by whom his son Rudolph was born in Eich in 1742. Christoph and Johannes who raised their families in Eich were probably also his sons, by his first wife. Christoph's third known wife got her permit to emigrate out of the Palatinate in 1764. Did she go to America? Did she take any of the children? I haven't found any evidence yet. --Tim in Fort Wayne ========================== PamChowdr2@aol.com wrote: > Tim, I was just browsing through the Ancestral File at www.familysearch.org > and I noticed that someone submitted info that Johann George, the brother of > Johann Michael, had a son named Johann Jacob, who was born in Germany abt > 1720 an died in PA abt 1793.
