Mary Jane Kimmel was a daughter of Daniel Kimmel, AC-BBJE at Tim's site, and Emeline Landis. I go back a bit on Emeline's line, although it is not mine. I go back a lot farther on Daniel Kimmel's line. Daniel was a brother of my Noah M. Kimmel. However I don't seem to have Ada Evora Beachley or her parents listed in the computer. I have a John L. Beachley born 2 Feb 1850 in Somerset Co., PA, died 20 Mar 1871 in Somerset Co., PA. John L. was a son of William Beachley and Sally Lichty. John L. died 8 years before Ada was born, so it is doubtful that he was Ada's father, unless if my dates are way off. William Beachley was a son of Daniel Buechley and Elizabeth Meyers. Daniel was a son of Abraham Buechly and Elizabeth Keagy. Abraham was a son of Johann Michael Buechley and Barbara Zug. It does make it difficult that the spelling of the name changed so much. I tried to search under various spellings. I have a record of a Mary Ann Walker born 3 Apr 1853, died 11 Mar 1930, but she married William Fike. My notes for her don't mention a marriage to John C. Beachley. Perhaps if I knew who John C. Beachley's parents were I might be able to link the line back quite a ways. History of Bedford and Somerset Counties Pennsylvania page 369 says Frank Coleman was a son of Jacob Coleman. I wasn't sure how much information Donna has or lacks. Let me know if I can be of any more help. Debby

    1. [KIMMEL] Kimmel and Chauncey Forward

    3. I was interested in the name of Chauncey Forward Kimmel. My connection to the Kimmels is through Eleanor Forward (1819-1851) married to Daniel Lint (1813-1896) who had a son Chauncey Lint who married Mary M. Kimmel (1844-1891). My Somerset County, PA, research has not found the ancestors for Eleanor Forward, mother-in-law of Mary Kimmel. I have learned that Chauncey Forward (1793-1839), an attorney in Somerset, helped to solve legal matters for Pennsylvania Dutch farmers. Many children were named after him for his benevolence. Any information on these folks would be appreciated. Thanks, Donna Knupp

    1. Re: [KIMMEL] Kimmel and Chauncey Forward
    2. I've been trying to fit Donna's information on this family in with mine, but, alas, don't find any Lints in my batch, though I have two pages of descendants for Chauncey Forward Kimmell (3/13/1839-1/171/1911) who married Harriet Elizabeth Sinclair (6-19-1844-2-29-1932. I have 14 children listed for them including a Chauncey Forward Kimmel Jr. who lived around Brookville PA. Strangely, I have some of their kids as double L and some as single. Or perhaps not so strangely. Most of what I have on Chauncey Forward Kimmell Sr. comes from Lester Kimmell of Phoenix and some from Franklin Buser. Buser has a slightly different DOB of 3/24/1839. "He was evidently named for the Cuncey Forward who was a county officer around Berlin, Somerset Co. PA; named for a very prominent lawyer in Somerset PA per Perry L. Kimmell." I have Chauncey Sr. as son of Jacob Roderick Kimmell and Juliana Suter. Jacob Roderick is s/o Abraham Kimmel and (in my records) the unresolved wife Susanna. I'd forgotten I have Wife Version 1 and Wife Version 2 and would appreciate somebody bringing me up to speed on this particular aspect. Anyway, the line I think traces back to Jacob Kimmel and Mary May Huffman of Berlin. Doubtless there are others on the list with more detailed info than mine on the descendants, but I have them marrying folks named Phillippi, Darrah, Strigel, Glotfelty, Harvey, Hogue, Coe, Snyder, Nicholson, Hammill, Meyers, etc.... 1. Re: [KIMMEL] Reunion
    2. All Kimmels are welcome. We'll have some genealogy exchanges. Last time we had non-David & Leah Kimmels from Montana, Florida, Ohio, Kansas, and Washington. Lola Kimmel is a David & Leah desc by marriage, and she's DAR. She has done the paperwork to get Philip Kimmel approved and we probably can get her to share about that--at least, she and Ken were there last time. Kimmels are basically friendly folk. Jan

    1. Re: [KIMMEL] Reunion
    2. The Kimmel reunion will be July 8-9 in Lawrence, KS. Beverly Sanders Muzzy is coordinating it. Her e-mail address is rzbmuzzy@grapevine.net Her phone is 913-796-6935 Snail mail 31370 259th Street, McLouth, KS 66054. Closest "real" airport would be Kansas City. Lawrence is on I-70 about 20-30 miles west of KC. It's also home of Kansas University and Haskell Indian University, some good jazz festivals and art galleries, and plenty of Border Warfare (pre Civil War) history--Quantrill's raiders and all that. Hope we see you there. If you want to bring an instrument and play music, I'm sure we could arrange something! I always assume all Kimmels are musical (except my granddaughter, who takes voice lessons just to try to stay on key). Jan T

    3. Pam, Thank you for all your work. I am interested in a few more generations. I would like to be able to track some cousins that might go to: Tobias Kimmel (1813) and Barbara Breniser then, of course, on to Sarah Ann Kimmel (1848) who married Henry Saxman Kiser (my great grandparents) Tobias had seven children and Sarah had five children, so I should have a few cousin out there somewhere. Many thanks, Pat-T

    3. Debra... Per church records Catherine was born 9/28/1830 to Jacob and Juliana Kimmel and baptized 4/4/1831 in the Glade Reformed and Lutheran Congregation in Stonycreek Township in Somerset Co., PA. That would be Jacob Roderick Kimmel and Juliana Sutter. Jacob was son of Abraham Kimmel and an unknown first wife and moved to Allegany (the part now Garrett) County, MD in 1850. This family took on the spelling "Kimmell." According to "Allegany Co., Maryland Records, Marriage Licenses" (DAR) Catherine Kimmell married Henry Teach 9/6/1850. It's interesting that you have Henry Feik. I imagine the handwriting on the original marriage record is hard to read? --Tim in Fort Wayne ========================= Kidd Family wrote: > Am searching for information on Catherine Kimmel, born 9/28/1830, married > Henry Johann Feik, died 8/1856 Accident, Garrett County, MD.
