In my search have investigated several Musser/Mosser/Moser families in Lancaster Co & Somerset Co. areas looking for my ggg-grandfather---NICHOLAS VALENTINE MOSSER/MUSSER & assumed spouse MADELENA DELLENBACH/DILABAUGH. She was reported to have been sister to Barbara Dellenbach who married John Fike, Sr. and also sister to Veronica "Freney" Dellenbach who married John Hershberger from Somerset Co. My Nicholas is still missing--but wonder if connected to the MUSSERS which intermarried with the Kimmels and others of that area. I have copies of TOBIAS & SUSANNAH CRONER MUSSER WILLS. Tobias's Will was written; 24 June 1856 and Probated Sept 28, 1859. The data I have says he died ---14 May 1859---age 82/4/23. I also have data from "Journal" from Lancaster County Historical Society---Musser article authored by Edgar A. Musser --in 1979 That Hans Musser 1704 d. April 1752 & Spouse--Veronica, called "Froney" b. ? d. before 1752---Froney not mentioned in Hans Will dated 14 March 1752. Had 4 sons; Jacob 1728--1755 m: Maria Hershey (d/o Christian & Barbara Hershey), Peter Musser 1730--1759 m; Anna Hershey, (sister of Maria--wife of Jacob) John Musser Jr. 1738--1802 m: 1st; Margaret Hambright 2nd: Sarah Funk, and Henry Musser 1740--1808 m; 1st; Ann Neff 1744--1784 2nd; Mary Kreider 1756--1826 Hans, Veronica, son Peter and grandson Henry are still buried at what was the Family Cemetery on original land in Lancaster Co. Others buried on original land were moved to Woodword Hill Cemetery in Lancaster Co. The Family Cemetery is now location of a Ball Park. There has been some discussion on the KIMMEL mailing list of RootsWeb about Kimmel - Musser connections. So I'm sending this to my contacts who are descendants of Isaac Kimmel and Anna Musser, to those who indicated an interest in the Kimmel - Musser connections and to the KIMMEL mailing list. Reference - Research of Edgar A. Musser of Lancaster PA. ca. 1980, page 23. I do not know if this was ever published. I received portions of Edgar's research in the early 1980s when corresponding with him. I primarily have the postions pertinent to the ancestry of Anna Musser. The dates of birth and death for Anna, Tobias, Henry, Susanna, and Mary are the same as I have, with the following exceptions: Tobias: I have d 11 May 1869, from the Laurel Messenger Nov 1986, page 239. However I see that Biographical Review Vol. 32, page 56 says died 1859 (no month or day). Your date is probably better than mine. Henry: I only had born 1783. Mary: I have died 12 Jan 1868, probably from World Family Tree Vol. 5 # 3011. It could be wrong since it is not a primary source. The Musser line is not mine, but I have the above children listed in my data base because of the tie-in with the Kimmel, Meyers, and Buechley families. I added Henry from a list posting since I had his parents and some siblings already. I did not have the other children listed in my data base. For those interested in this line: Included in the "Sesquicentennial Souvenir Program for Oakland Maryland 1849-1999, published 1999", there is article "Writers of the Moutaintop" One of the writers mentioned, along with a copy of his poem "My Letter to George Little" is John William Kimmell. "John William Kimmell was born in Deer Park on June 6, 1868, a son of the late Chauncey F. and Harriet Sinclair Kimmell. He was reared on a farm near Swallow Falls, along with his nine siblings. While a very young man, Kimmell began to work in the lumber industry, through which he developed a great love for nature and spent many hours in philosophic thought, which he later transferred to poetry. He was known as the local poet, writing about the people and scenes of the country he loved. He died on July 19, 1949, a month before the town's centennial. His wife, Edith Kimmell Starkey, later published much of his work in a booklet titled "Memories and Moods of Verse."

Jan, I didn't see a post with information from Donna. Could you forward her information if it is in regards to Chauncy F. Kimmell 1839. Yesterday was a snow day here in Maryland, and while passing the time, I found the article about Totten A. Kimmell. I posted it simply thinking it may help someone else. Now, Chauncey tracks right back to my line, Jacob Kimmel b. 1757 and Mary May Huffman. That is if I followed your correspondence correctly. Since Chauncey 1839-1911 is buried in Oakland, Maryland, I would like to see the list of the fourteen children w/marriages to see if I can find more names in the Garrett County area. There are only four KIMMEL names in this book of Graves, but there are twenty six KIMMELLS. Strangely, there is a listing for Harriett SINCLAIR Jul 11, 1844 / Feb 29, 1932. She is buried on the same plot as KIMMELL, Charles E.(1865-1891), Margaret E.(1866-1875), Sarah E.1872-1872). Possibly her children? Wonder why she wasn't buried using the name Kimmell? Also, her birth date, listed in the book, is slightly different than the one you listed, but the death date is the same. I had no idea when I made the post that this family could have tied in with my Kimmels, but I don't know why I should be surprised, I am finding that I am related to just about everyone who lived in Garrett County, Maryland. :) My line also connects with the other post yesterday for the Buechley(Beachley) line, as I descend from the line of Johann Michael and Barbara Zug (Zook) Buechley.
