    3. Yes, I actually have Catherine Elizabeth Zimmerman 1761 in my data base, but don't know where it came from - probably from one of many of Dr. Stoner's works. But Rachel Zimmerman is given in the portion devoted to Michael 1760-1819, and that was what I was quoting in my earlier note. Since I'm not from that line I haven't done any research, just collected as many of Stoner's works as I could lay may hands on. So that's all I have. Anyone else have anything more definitive? M. 3. I thought that Michael Kimmel (1760-1819) married Katerina Elizabeth Zimmerman who was born March 12, 1761. She was the daughter of Johannes Michael Zimmerman (1732-1802) and wife Maria Magdalena Sauter. I am a Zimmerman descendant, but never researched this Michael Kimmel family. The Zimmermans lived in Quemahoning Township near Stoystown in Somerset County. Please tell me if anyone knows more about the Rachel Zimmerman who was listed as Michael Kimmel's wife. Donna Knupp

    3. Here is what I have in my data base for Eve. This is from a compilation by Dr. H. K. Stoner "Revised record of the family of Michael Kimmel b. 1760 d. 1819 near Stoyestown, Pa." February 1939 There is a little more in Dr. Stoner's work, such as marriages of Eve's children, and also that Eve and Christian are buried in Friedens Cemetery in Somerset County PA and that their markers are still there (as of 1939). From elsewhere (the earlier "unrevised" work?) there is an indication Eve and Christian had more children. There is also some biographical information for Michael Kimmel, and an indication Michael left a will, Christian Spangler one of the executors. 3--MICHAEL KIMMEL 1760-1819 * M. I didn't find an Eve Kimmel Spangler in my records (which doesn't mean much), but I did find a Jane Spangler Kimmell, who married Joseph C Kimmell and became the mother of a batch of Kimmells . She was born in Ohio and shows up in Noble Co. IN marriages 1830-1930 as mother of various brides and grooms. She died 7/4/1885. I didn't find an Eve Kimmel or Kimmell. Maybe somebody on the Kimmel list might have information on Eve Kimmel Spangler. Sorry. Jan T

    2. Hi Sue, Sorry, but my relationship to Joseph Andrew Kimmel is quite distant. In fact the most recent of Joseph A. Kimmel's ancestors in my database is his grandfather, David Kimmel b 1793. You need to go back to Joseph Andrew Kimmel's ggg grandfather, Johann Philip Kimmel 1695-1777 to get back to a common ancestor. Here is my line of descent: Johann Philip Kimmel 1695-1777 Philip Kimmel 1724-1796 Jacob Kimmel 1757-1824 Jonathan Kimmel 1798-1878 Noah M. Kimmel 1832-1876 Mary Ellen Kimmel 1857-1910 (AC-BBJFB) Your line is: Johann Philip Kimmel 1695-1777 Michael Kimmel 1736-1818 Joseph Kimmel 1769-1843 David Kimmel b 1793 Joseph Kimmel 1819-1902 Joseph Andrew Kimmel 1854-1934 It looks like your Joseph Andrew Kimmel and my Mary Ellen Kimmel were 4th cousins. Mary Ellen was my great grandmother, so I think your former husband is a 7th cousin to me. Debby

    3. This will be useful for Ken/Sue. It is J. Andrew's obituary in the July 7, 1934 (Saturday) "Daily Chief:" - --------------------------- "J. A. Kimmel "Dies at Home in Carey Friday Night From Cerebral Hemorrhage "Joseph Andrew Kimmel, retired farmer, died at his home on Dow street, in Carey, Friday night at 10:50 o'clock. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill three weeks. "Deceased was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kimmel, and was born near Wharton; in Wyandot county, October 26, 1854. He attained the age of 79 years, 8 months and 10 days at the time of death. Mr. Kimmel was united in marriage to Laura B. Burson, who is deceased, on November 25, 1876. Four children were born to this union, namely, C. G. Kimmel, of Carey; Willard E. Kimmel, of Findlay; Eugene Kimmel, of Prospect, and Eura B., wife of Foster Savidge, of Carey. Mr. Kimmel was married to Lizzie Forney, now deceased, on February 25, 1894. One daughter, Nellie, wife of Clarence Hagley, of Lovell, survives this union. Mr. Kimmel was united in marriage to Ida McClellan, on April 25, 1922, who survives. An only brother, L. L. Kimmel, resides at Columbia City, Ind. "Mr. Kimmel spent his entire life in Wyandot county and before his retirement, thirty-two years ago, was engaged in farming. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. "Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal church in Carey, in charge of Rev. A. C. Rainsberger. Burial will be made in Houston cemetery, at Forest." ------------------------- Everyone should have such a thorough obit! This is on microfilm at the Community Library in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Knowing Joseph Andrew's name and birth date, you can now find him in the Joseph and Sarah Kimmel family in Richland Township, Wyandot Co., Ohio in the 1860 census (as "Andrew" age 4) and the 1870 census (as "Joseph A." age 14). The age discrepancy is not unusual for a census, but check the other names in the family to verify it is the same person. Next, there is a write up on Joseph and Sarah Kimmel on page 949 in the "History of Wyandot County, Ohio" (1884) which gives their children, including "Andrew" and matching the censuses. And gives Joseph's parents David and Susanna (Welker) Kimmel. David's parents are a bit tricky. 2. go to: http://www2.fwi.com/~tkimmel/Summary.htm Tim's web page lists AC-HDCAF - Joseph Andrew Kimmel 1854-1934. He m1 Laura B. Burson, m2 Lizzie J. Forney, m3 Ida McClellan. It is best to use a browser that has a "find" feature. Type in the code or Burson and it will go right to it. You can then backtrack and find Joseph Andrew Kimmel's ancestors. Joseph Andrew Kimmel was s/o AC-HDCA Joseph Kimmel 1819-1902. Joseph Kimmel was s/o AC-HDC David Kimmel 1793-1852 and Susanna Welker. David was s/o AC-HD Joseph Kimmel 1769-? and Nancy/Anna Stoner.
