I am Jodi one of the originals Love to read your posts, havent really felt connected but do lots of research and have questions Just seems like they just float around and there are no answers! No ones fault Just the proverbial Brick wall. I have two connections and really think perhaps the PA family and at least the Alabama families may be connected to the Ralph found in PA about 1750. Anyhow I will post a little as I am a collector and have lots of Kilgores other than my own lineage, perhaps this will help someone out there You see I am a Steele and way back James Steele married Isobel Kilgore The name Isobel Kilgore also found in Maryland and then again My Great Grandfather, George Washington Steele, married Margaret Kilgore I want to think these are connected eons and countries apart. James Steele was also in Fife as was perhaps the family of my brick Wall George Steele, (1750)Charles County Md..married to Elizabeth Ratcliff daughter of one of the Richards You have no idea how many times I have wanted to be a guy and have my DNA tested!!!! I would finance someone in our line to have it tested You bet! Robert Kilgore (Fife county Scotland) dont know where this came from! Robert (1740) & Winnie Clayton m. 1763) Ralph Kilgore (1773) & Nancy Gray John Kilgore (1779) & Cyntha Addington (m.1819) Scott County VA John Kilgore Jr. (Sept. 30, 1827) m. Almeda Haney (m.June 14, 1851) Margaret Jane Kilgore (January 27, 1863) m. George Washington Steele (m.april 4, 1880) Scott County VA Sterling Price Steele & America Lizzie Lykins m. Feb 10, 1900 in Morgan Co. KY James Wilbur Steele & Grace Schollard Me .Elizabeth (Jodi) Steele..bn. 1747 m. Paul Catano 1774 On another note I know nothing about DNA but I do know that our Haplo group for our Steele family A cousin has been tested is much closer to the Gray Family Haplo group than to any other Steeles on the DNA site! Go figure Perhaps we only think we are Steeles????It wouldnt surprise me as my Dad had 6 kids and 3 wives before he married my mom and she didnt even know it I found my ½ Sister in Ohio who was born in 1936! By the way Mom was married to marrying Jim for 40 years! Jodi Do Not Follow Where the Path may Lead, Go Instead Where there is no Path and Leave a Trail. -Anonymous
