KiT: The Robert Greer Kilgore Family reunion is held the 2nd Saturday after July 4th. For futher information you can e-mail me [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) or post to the list. Thanks Billy Billy W.KIlgore Dear KILGORE researchers: This is what is known of my line, and I have ordered the y-DNA Test for 37 markers from FamilyTreeDNA.com. The total was 123 dollars, and I have gladly paid it. I hope it can tell us something about how our North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee lines match up. When I know something, I will happily share it with you all. I suspect that it going to take dozens of us being tested before we can really see any patterns emerge. Christopher P. Kilgore, b. GA 1953 son of G. A. Jack Kilgore, b. TX, 1922 son of William Henry Kilgore, b. TX 1878, d. TX 1963 son of Josiah Calvin Kilgore, b. AL 1847, d. TX 1927 son of James M. Kilgore, b. TN 1812, d. TX 1888. The foregoing is known and proven. James M. Kilgore may have been the son of a Thomas Kilgore, b. NC? abt. 1783, who may have been connected with Stephen Clayton Kilgore, b. 1767, either a son, or may be the last son of Robert Kilgore of Virginia, b. abt 1740, d. 12.31.1782. What I do know is that there are uncannily and amazingly strong family resemblances between my Kilgore ancestors and those of Elijah Kilgore of Georgia, b. TN abt 1815. I think that those Kilgores have a yearly reunion, this weekend, in NW Georgia. Can anyone on the list confirm that this reunion still takes place?
