    2. Dear Cousins, For those who don't know me or my patrilineage. My name is Robert Lee (Kilgore) Stahn,I changed my name prior to going into the Navy.I never new my biological father,I was raised with the Stahn name. When I started doing my research I found a first cousin Jenna Scott who had all this wonderful Kilgore information and was kind enough to give me this information and saved me a lot of work. My line is: Robert Lee (Kilgore) Stahn b.1946 Theodore Roosevelt Kilgore b.1911 d. 1983 Walter Robert Killgore Sr.b.1873 d.1935 John Hardin Killgore b. 1835 d. 1901 Joseph T. Killgore b.1800 d.1860 William Killgore II b.1759 d. 1812 William Killgore I b. 1726 d. 1791. The Kilgore Surname Project at Familytreedna, has a Project Administrator. His name is Grier McFarland he can be reached [email protected] After being approved by the administrator and given a join code,I ordered my DNA kit today. The Y-DNA--Male 37 marker paternal test. The (group) price is US $119.00 + $4.00 shipping a Total of $123.00. It can be paid for by credit card or invoice. This Kilgore project currently has 11 members. I believe that the larger the group the better the cross reference of the various lines will be and we might find a connection that will join some of the lines. Hope this helps, Cousin Robert

    3. Does this mean that we are limited to using just one lab? Or does this Kilgore Surname Project collect results from different labs -what I mean is; Ancestry has a special this month for about $75.00 for 37 marker test according to Jaelene's message yesterday. This price is limited to only Ancestry's members though. But if someone used Ancestry's labs would the results get to this project or would Ancestry hold them for their own purposes? Does anyone know? ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, September 13, 2008 6:23 PM Subject: [KILGORE] Kilgore Surname Project Dear Cousins, For those who don't know me or my patrilineage. 3. I think that most sites allow you to enter the DNA codes that you receive from other labs. So the lab that you use will automatically check their database, then you can go to other DNA company sites and manually enter your results into their database and compare. Here is a link showing what Ancestry results look like: http://dna.ancestry.com/sampleTest.aspx;jsessionid=F8D17FA2EC8738D41D88A97A87A1242F.dna03 Also, Ancestry will email you if there is a close match. I have not ordered a kit yet, but I followed the process down a bit and when ordering you have a choice of ordering on behalf of someone else. Hope that helps.
