I found a site with the following info: *344. Robert KILGORE*, son of *Robert KILGORE* and *Elizabeth JACK*, was born in 1735 in Kilgory, Clare, Ireland, UK and died on 31 Dec 1782 in Pond, Russell, VA. I wrote the owner to request documentation. She nicely and quickly responded as follows: Dennie, This is one of the rare time you catch me fishing with info on the net. I found this and I can't remember where and so I thought I would see if I could get some reation from someone. I also wanted to keep the info for later research on this. As the the parish reg. do go back that far and farther than this. At the time this family of Kilgore's would have come there are 2 types of parish records and sometime 3 and then you also have the Quaker church also and their records. I was looking at some this past November in the Irish Quaker records in Ireland and did notice some people with the Kilgore surname but I only took the names and dates of course didn't quite fit. I did put the film #s in his notes and to return to them when I had more time. I was researching Cope and Lee in those records at the time. I can only keep a couple of surnames in mind when I am starting with nothing. Not enough time to finish what I was looking for. If you would like a copy of the LDS film #s I would be happy to send you a copy. Thank you for writing. Also have you done any Male Kilgore DNA to determine whether they are from Northern or Southern Ireland. This would be of help. --Candis-- 2nd email: 1^st attached is the film #s for the Quaker records and 2^nd attached is the county Clare parish map. Have a look at all the lovely little parishes to go through. So starting somewhere is a good thing and also Kilgory/Kilcorney #24 is a parish on this map I believe. At least that is what I was using when I looked at this parish map. I don't believe they are meant Kilconry #23. Now on the Quaker's in Ireland what happened there that as those in an all over Ireland began to convert they would travel out of their if they were in a predominately catholic part of Ireland they needed to move and thus to make sure you don't have one of these those films need to be also looked at. With the migration out of Ireland and to here becoming predominantly Quaker during the time that we find the 1735 dates this is often something a descendant does not consider. There are only a few films and from what I saw not to bad to go through. If you do find one that had just moved into the area and not born there the records do give his original town or parish so you can follow them pretty easily. Let me know if I can be of any help. I'm still working on that Cope who does have a confirmed by DNA heritage of Northern Ireland and then there is my ever problem of my Lee's of which I had to do DNA to determine their country of origin. If I can help any farther let me know. --Candis 3rd email: Here is the DNA site and the surname page for the Kilgore's that have taken the DNA. If your father is living or one of his brothers then a man can take the female DNA test for the mothers DNA. Men carry both the Male & the female DNA where a woman can only do the female test: Family Pedigree page: http://www.wfnforum.net/index.php?topic=1495.0 DNA project entry area: https://www.familytreedna.com/surname_det.aspx?group=Kilgore&projecttype=S <https://www.familytreedna.com/surname_det.aspx?group=Kilgore&projecttype=S> You never know maybe someone else has already done one that matches to yours. Enjoy --Candis-- Have any of you had DNA testing done on your Kilgore line? If so, what was the results? The map she sent is really nice. So if any of you want the map or the film #s, let me know and I will email them to you. Dennie
