    1. Re: [KILGORE] Tennessee-Georgia
    2. Vickie, I would appreciate the lookup but think my ggrandmother is the only one shown with a funeral service in an ME church. My ggrandmother's name was Rebecca Jane Quinn Jones and according to her obit she died on Walden's Ridge, TN 9-20-1899 and was brought down to the Whiteside ME Church for burial 9-21-1899. The priests officiating were Rev McAllister and Rev J. O. Straley. She is buried in the Forest Hills Cemetery in St Elmo, Chatt. Her husband was Peter Dillard Jones b 1-04-1844 in NC and died 8-8-1890 in Chatt of TB. He is buried in the Mitchell Cemetery, Ooltewah, Hamilton Co, TN with a Masonic Emblem on his headstone I have not found an Obit for him. They had nine children but I have not seen any other obit mentioning the ME church. William P. Jones, d 3-23-1907 of TB and was buried from his home. Luannah, no info; Mary d 9-4-1885 in Chatt and is buried beside her father in Ooltewah but I have found no obit. John D. died 2-19-1896 in Chatt of TB but no mention of religion in obit. Thomas L. d 12-21-1907 but no obit found. Robert W. d 4-7-1958, buried in Forest HIlls Cem but no religion mentioned in obit. Lillian m Walter Gunther, no more info on her. Sarah (Sally) m George Beckert and a Mr Steward but I have no moe info on her other than family legend said she moved to Houston, TX. It doesn't look as though any of the above had services in an ME church but I don't really know for sure. According to Quinn researchers, one of Rebecca's ancestor's was the first minister of a particular Baptist church in either SC or Orange Co, NC. Another was a minister in a Baptist church in North GA. so I have found no other mention of the Methodist Episcopal Church in my research. IT has been some time since I have looked through all of my Quinn info and I may be forgetting some. I am still keeping my eyes open to all of the Kilgore emails and hope someday I will see some info regarding my Avarilla Jane Kilgore. I haven't given up hope. 3. I'll be happy to look it up the next time I get to the library which may not be for a couple of weeks. I must say, though, you appear to have more information already than the publication is likely to have.
