    1. Re: [KILGORE] Henry and James Kilgore
    2. I've never seen an Isaac, so this is news to me. Our James, and descendants are well documented after 1785. Two of his sons, Peter and John, came Southwest to MS and on to TX. The other, James, stayed in Hartsville, SC and had the only grist mill in the early 1800, of which "Kilgore Mill Road" is still there next to the mill pond. Before 1785, all I know of is Peter and Henry. One was a brother, and the other was either brother or father. Mark In a message dated 7/3/2008 5:03:40 P.M. I believe he is the s/o Peter but have no good source. Have you checked the possibility that James is connected to Isaac? He went to SC from NC. Freda [email protected] wrote: I suspect these are my ancestors. I also have 1785 pay records that mention Henry and James. There is also mention of a brother, Peter. I descend from James, who settled in Hartsville, SC. after the war. We have never been able to trace farther back than James, and his first appearance in post RW pay records and land grants...nothing before the war. I found one mention of a non-linked James Kilgore in Currituck, NC around 1755, but no detail. This James is not the same, and not to be confused with the better documented James Kilgore from SC via Virginia, Benjamin, et. al. Mark Kilgore Cumming, GA In a message dated 7/1/2008 10:30:24 A.M. They are on the pay records for the South Carolina Line. Footnote is a great site. There are many original records that may be copied. 3. I am away from my records but there was an Isaac in Wake Co NC with my group. If I am not mistaken he went to SC. Have you checked the archives? I live in TX and am well aware of the TX Kilgores. They are well documented. Freda [email protected] wrote: I've never seen an Isaac, so this is news to me.
